I did the worksheet but I can't believe that it's correct. My SS income for 2014 is $16,655. My total income from my small business was $20,180. I had adjustments on 1040, lines 23-32 of $2,675, which can be subtracted. According to the worksheet my taxable SS is only $417. Can that be right??

It moves from one page to the next very slowly. Even when I type, the letters are slow coming onto the screen. What do you think is happening. I bought it in 2011.

Just the 2 days, in the evening, both my MacBook Air & my Ipad stop functioning, saying they are not connected to the Internet or they can't find service. However, my router & modem are both on with all lights showing & the router icon on my MacBook shows it's connected to the router. If I unplug the modem & router for an hr or so, my devices work correctly again for a while.

I have an small online business. My daughter is a professional writer and website designer. She helps me off and on as I need it as an independent contractor. I pay her regular fee. I could simply transfer her payment online through the bank from my business account to her checking account. Would the IRS consider a transfer of funds to be a problem? I have a 1993 626 Mazda that I bought in 2003 from a friend who took good care of it. She had replaced the timing belt at 90K miles and had a major tune-up. I don't drive much. Now the car has 98K miles on it. My last tune-up for the car was 3 years ago at 96K miles when a top mechanic checked the car & did an oil & filter change. Fluids were okay. I bought a new battery this year and bought new tires in 2009. The car passed the last smog test in 2011.

The car runs well & has no indications of problems. Since it's been 3 years, but only 2,000 miles, since the last check-up, I'm wondering if I should get another check-up now or should I wait; and if I wait, when should it happen.

My son is my silent business partner. Both of our names are on the business checking account. Over the last 3 years he has borrowed money from our joint business checking account. Now he has the money to repay the full amount of $40,000.00 which he plans to deposit into our business checking account.

Our business is an online subscription magazine. I receive the 1099 from the merchant bank which is in my name and I pay the taxes on the income they report for our business as a sole proprietor.

Will I have to pay income tax on money from my son's repayment of the loan for $40K?

I hope someone at Yahoo will take this back to the engineers who created the new NEO Groups format. There are many problems with the new format, but most important to me as a moderator of three very large groups with many daily questions is being able to EDIT the pending messages. Right now there is no way to edit the pendings. We have to either ACCEPT them or REJECT them.

We could EDIT pendings in the previous format. It's very important because some people have typos in their messages, some leave too many previously posted messages under their new message, some have computer symbols that the message picked up coming through the Yahoo system.

Until now, when I uploaded a photo, it filled the photo space after I clicked on the word 'Post,' but today, before I click on 'Post,' the photo is appearing as a thumbnail with a 2nd empty space next to it. I haven't posted it because I don't want it to show up that way. Usually, when I want to add a photo on FB, the photo file name stays in the box until I click 'Post,' then the photo appears as full size. But today, the thumbnail size of the photo appeared BEFORE I clicked on "Post." Can anyone tell me how to correct this problem? If I click on 'Post,' will it appear in it's full-size form or as a thumbnail size?

Sometimes the router will be OK for several days, then it will stop working because the WLAN light won't come on. As you can tell, I don't understand technology. When it doesn't work, I unplug the modem & router, wait a few minutes and first plug in the modem again, wait till all lights are on, then plug in the router and it works again. BUT, on some days, I have to do the unplugging and plugging back in for several times before the router WLAN light comes on, then it works. The other three lights are on as they should be.

I'm planning to buy a new router but I would like to know the reason the WLAN connection works only part of the time.

I have a MacBookAir so I can't plug directly into the modem.

I Googled for this information but couldn't find it. I want to eliminate the Facebook symbols/button signs on my website pages. I no longer want my website to have links to Facebook. Someone else put the link buttons on my website pages. I don't know how to remove them.

I have an online subscription magazine with articles and recipes with photos. I test new recipes that I create every week and often have people over for dinner to try the meals and give me feedback before I put them in the magazine. The cost of the groceries adds up to a substantial amount on a regular basis.

Can I deduct this cost since it's a result of my business. It could add up to about $2,500 or $3,000 for the year considering that I spend about $100.00 every week or two on the foods for this purpose, making enough for 5 or 10 people. My income for the year for this business is about 28K. I save all my grocery receipts and keep a record of new recipes being made. Does the total amount of the foods sound reasonable? I don't want to trigger an audit by adding this.

I moderate 3 Yahoo groups. Suddenly a couple weeks ago, the File folders stopped opening as they did before. They used to open the way any email would, as a new page. Now they either won't open at all for some members or they open like a pdf file in a separate box with very light font that can barely be read.

I have extensive and important file information in the groups. I tried writing to Yahoo directly but was directed here. Can anyone help solve this problem?

On my new MacBook Air with Lion software, I'm using Yahoo Mail. When I get photos in attachments, I click to download & a download list shows, then it takes a few seconds before a full page sized photo opens. When it is opened, the toolbar and doc go away. There's no way to save the large sized photo. If I copy and save the thumbnail photo in the email, that's as big as it gets if I send it to someone else in an email. It stays in thumbnail size.

Once or twice when I opened an email attached photo, it opened immediately in a nice size right over the email page. I don't know why it worked differently those few times, but I liked it better. I don't get choices when the photo opens other than 'default' and 'other.' The word, other, does nothing.

The only choices I see when I click 'Edit' is 'Change date" and "Change location" or "Delete." Am I missing something? I just want to correct a typo in a statement in the status section.

Someone told me that because a home is not counted in the eligibility income limit, that income I receive on a loan I carry for the buyer won't count. Is there any kind of exemption like that?

I know I'll need to file a form C for business. I'm the sole owner. Could you give me an idea of the dollar amount I would have to pay on an annual gross [no deductions] of 28K? I know I can go into the IRS site and look at the forms and try to figure it out, but I'm hoping some of the experts here will simply be able to tell me off-hand approx what the amount of tax will be. No other income needs to be considered & I'm my only dependent.

I own a website on which I have many videos. For some reason, the videos are disproportionately tiny on my MacBook Air, but on my Dell Notebook, they're normal size. I even enlarged them a bit to try to help & they appear larger on the Dell but not on the MacBook Air. In fact, on the Mac, the video screens are even smaller than the toolbar at the bottom of the video. They're distorted. Some of the videos appear too far to the left with the left side of the screen cut off a bit. But on the Dell, they all look normal. And, on my friend's MacPro, they look normal.

Has anyone else had this problem? Or do you have any ideas for me as to how I might remedy the situation? This isn't about the overall screen size of the computers. Something else is going on but I don't know what.

Do I first click on "Open" or "Save." I want to put the file into Iphotos. When I clk on 'Save' it begins going into Firefox's Document file. How do I then transfer all of the photos from that document into Iphoto? Is "Save" the correct first step? There are probably 100 photos and videos in this large file. My computer is a MacBookAir.
