I have a Dell Inspiron which I got about a year & a half ago. It has a 300G HD & 2M RAM. This week I received a Windows message on the screen that "Windows detected a hard disk problem." Now when I reboot, I get a message before the computer starts up saying "Hard Drive Self Monitoring System has reported that a parameter is out of range. Dell recommends that you back up your data regularly. A parameter out of range may or may not indicate a potential hard drive problem."

I am no longer under warranty & must figure this out. My data is backed up. Is there a diagnostic that can check & repair this issue? The message is so vague to me I don't know where to begin.

I have a Dell Inspiron running Windows 7. I have about 220G free hard drive space out of 300G, and 2M memory. I've had it for 8 months. My memory and/or CPU nearly always operate using a very small percentage of the resources, yet for months I've had a problem. Anything I stream from the web, whether it's audio or video, will not buffer and play more than around 4.5 minutes without stopping. I then have to refresh and start again. Sometimes I can click to where I left off, but this is annoying. It also doesn't matter if it's Windows Media Player, Real Player, or an unidentified player on the site. The same thing happens. Any suggestions?

I am a novice at Wordpress and am editing a site created by someone else. There is a slideshow on the home page. I have been asked to add a photo to it, but I can't find the page. I can not find "home" or "index" or anything close. Can anyone tell me how to edit the home page?

Updates for Windows 7 are failing the install process. Any suggestions?

I have a problem with music and video streaming. Whatever I'm listening to or watching stops and has to re-buffer. Sometimes I have to completely re-load the page. I'm running Windows 7 with over 225 Gigs of free space and 4 Megs of RAM, so I don't get it. Any ideas?

Is there a way to control what image shows when a link is posted in FB? I ask because whenever I post a link to my website, the blue background is all that shows. Yet for other links I always see a logo or something. What can I do to control this?

I have been living with carpal tunnel for a while now. But lately, within the last couple of weeks, the numbing in my left hand is so bad at night that it wakes me up and feels like its burning. Then I can't get back to sleep because I'm so conscious of the numb feeling. I now purposely stay up late in hopes of being so tired I have to sleep. Since I have no insurance right now, I need some home remedies. Any suggestions? Some of the ones I've read don't work for me. I.E., don't hang your arm down out of the bed. Well, that actually helps me sometimes. Another is to wear a brace. This has no effect because it still comes even when the wrist is straight. HELP!!

If I have the administrator account, why can I not view my kids' limited accounts? Whenever I click on on of their folders in Explorer, the error "Access Denied" pops up saying the folder is not available. I thought that the administrator could open any folder. What gives?

I'm thinking about purchasing Adobe Dream weaver. One of its requirements is a DVD reader. Since I only have a CD read/write drive, will it work if I simply install one on my computer? Better yet, will it work without the DVD drive?

How can I remove an item from the "add/remove" list in the Control Panel when no "Change/Remove" button appears? Uninstalling is not an option because the items have been deleted.

My printer software is malfuncioning and I need to re-install. It's an HP Officejet k80xi. The uninstaller isn't working. In the "add/remove programs" section of the Control Panel, there is no "Change/Remove" button as with the other programs. How can I get this stuff off? Just deleting the folders doesn't work, as the new download still recognizes that the printer is installed. Help!!

Does anyone know of a free way to create or use an already created logo that will blend into any background? I have one for a Publisher website, but whenever I use it for something else, I have to put it on Paitboard and re-color the background.
