  • Is there a way to scan a webpage for certain text automatically?

Where I work, we have a client queue. I have to manually refresh the page, and search to see if anyone in in queue for me. I have been using pagereboot.com to have it refresh every minute. Now I would like to know if there is a way I could have an add-on or program search this site for my name so that I get a pop-up or alert when my it finds specific text (my name). I cannot modify the script, as I do not have access to it, nor am I very good at scripting. Any ideas on how I can do this?

  • Is there a way to set up an alert when a webpage contains specific text?

I use a web page at work that functions as a client queue; however, it does not alert me when a client is in queue for me. I have to manually keep checking to see if anyone is waiting for me. Is there any program, browser add-on, or option that I can use to alert me when this web page reads specific text (my name)? I cannot modify the source code of the web page. Please let me know if you can think of a more efficient way to use my client queue.

  • i7 950/975 vs Dual Xeon quad-core vs. AMD Phenom II Extreme?

I am a graphic/visual designer that does a lot of HD/3D video encoding, design, and rendering. I use After Effects, Avid, Maya, etc. I want to build my next computer, but I'm not sure what processor to go with. Should I get an i7, use it for 2-3 years and then upgrade to gulftown (supposedly LGA 1366 socket), or should I get dual Xeon processors? As far as I know there isn't any way to have dual i7 or AMD PII processors on one board due to the single QPI. That's what I'm told anyway. Any ideas?

  • What kind of processor should I buy?

I am building a computer for multiple purposes. The main purpose is for media and graphic design (Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Maya/3DS Max, etc). I know so far that I want dual quad core processors. I'm thinking dual i7 975 or 920 processors. I was also considering Xeon processors as well. It's not that price is not object, but do want a fast computer that can handle what I need it to do for a good price. The processor should be able to handle a lot of HD and 3D applications (Being able to handle top games would be nice as well). I would not mind advice on MB, GPU, and memory.
