  • Income Redistribution: Would You Teach Your Child to Steal?

Stealing from the rich to give to the poor is still stealing. So if you support the idea of the government doing it in your name, what about your children? Do you think it is alright for your childred to steal so long as it is from "the rich?"

  • Would you vote for a True Isolationist President?

    War only if attacked.

Import tariffs to protect U.S. jobs.

Drill all of our own oil.

    War only if attacked.

    No Foreign Aid.

Everything would be more expensive, but we would have peace, could control the border better and be self sufficent again.

  • Are you in favor of giveing the President the right of Line Item Veto?

I think it could work with some conditons.

    1. The over ride vote would have to be automatic and timely, don't waste allot of time per item.

    2. A simple majoity could over ride it.

This would allow the President to help control or at least draw public attention to all of the pork without giving him absolute power.

How could anyone but a professiona politician be against that?

  • Should we Abolish the Senate?

Many here want to end the electoral college, which the founding fathers created to help "equalize" small states and large, just like the Senate. Now the divide is more rural vs urban but the idea is the same, to prevent the complete domination of the minority by the majority. The electoral college is another of the famous checks and balances in our government. So if you want to do away with it, why would you not also want to do away with the Senate?

  • Could a Yahoo Answers Presidential Debate Work?

Folks here have the leisure of looking up reference material to support their argument and then post it in detail without fear of interruption.

Wouldn't it be neat if the actual candidates did the same thing? If it could be set up to varify that it was indeed them, not staff, to answer questions from the public in written format, no talking heads pitching softballs or curves.

    Aw, to dream.
