I know that passive listening is barely better than nothing when trying to learn a new language from scratch?
however, what do you guys think about passive listening when one understands a tad bit of the language already? I took four years of french and being a native spanish speaker i found it a bit easier than my peers. however, I have found that I am already forgetting much of what I learned. Do you think the passive listening would not only help me keep up but learn more?

2 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoProblems with the parental units, advice?
So, I am 18 (have been for about half a year now). I am going to graduate in May with honors ( C u m Laude) and my parents are still controlling about every aspect of my life... seriously... My dad basically decided which University I should attend. I worked my butt off to go to a mediocre school ( he says because it's cheaper) . I can't dye my hair anything they deem extreme ( he threw a *****-fit because I colored my hair ombre ), nothing extreme I may add. I also have always wanted to get a small nose stud, but as you could have guessed... daddy and mommy blew up in my face. " it isn't professional" "you'll have an ugly scar" " you'll only find trashy men who like girls the way you want to present yourself". What do you suggest I do? I have tried communicating with them but that ended up in an over-dramatic argument. I know some of you will say to move out but to be honest I will be a full-time student and working - but not enough to support myself. I understand I have to respect my parents and their rules while I live with them but I feel like they are getting worse with time -__-.
