Are the wires going to roll toward each other or away from each other in the prompt below?
Two long straight wires are place on a horizontal frictionless table 5 millimeters apart. If the currents of 10 A are established in the wires in the same direction.
If the length of the wires are 1.2 m, what is the total force on each wire?

1 AnswerPhysics5 years agoWhat is Ampere’s law?
a. It connects current with one of the universal constants in nature, µ0, called permeability of the free space
b. It connects the length of the wire in a closed path with the magnitude of the current through that wire
c. It provides a way to calculate magnetic field generated by a current
d. It sums up all parallel components of the field lines for all possible distances from the wire and equals it to the product between the magnetic permeability, µ, and current through the wire, I

1 AnswerPhysics5 years agoWhat is the magnitude of the total magnetic field at point P if d = 1.00 m and h = 1.00 m?
Cross section of two long straight wires carrying currents I1 = 10.0 A and I2 = 20.0 A and both directed out of the page is shown in the link below.

I received a new LG G3 phone through my parents Verizon account as an upgrade for Christmas
My gfs parents did not get her anything for Christmas this year. They paid for her college tuition in full the last 2.5 years, which my parents did not. The only way I could go to school is by earning a scholarship for myself, which she did not earn for herself so her parents pay for her school in full, including her room on campus. Because they dish out $11,000 a year and $610 a month for her schooling, she gets nothing for her birthday and other holidays. I am not so lucky to have a family supportive of me in school but I currently study to be a music teacher. My gf believes she has the right to my new phone because her parents do not get her anything besides schooling. She bought me a $10,000 worth of basses that I use for school because I need it for my degree and my parents think that musical instruments are useless wastes of money. I bought her an Acer laptop for school and a Mitsubishi car to drive around. She feels as though she deserves my new phone. Her iphone 4 has a cracked screen and her parents won't get her a new one. Her screen is still very much legible. Now, she wants my phone. I argue that this was from my parents and it has my number and it has my 216 contacts in it, it is also my was people get a hold of me from family, friends, and even calls from work and school. Do you believe under these circumstances, that my gf deserves my phone if she hands me hers?
