How do bakeries make cakes flat on top?
How do you make a cake that is perfect and flat on top, or do they just bake them and cut the top off? Mine always come out with a rounded middle.
11 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoBad reaction to Sargents Gold Flea and Tick!? WARNING!?
Last evening I applied Sargents Gold Flea and Tick to my two dogs(one rat terrier and one Chihuahua mix, I applied according to the directions on the package. With in an hour both dogs were sick. The Rat Terrier had itching so bad that she was rolling on the floor finding anything to rub her back on. We realized she was having a bad reaction to the 'medication' and bathed her immediately. We noticed the Chihuahua licking the air a lot but at first we were not too concerned and took both dogs to bed. About ten minutes later I noticed a giant wet spot on the bed, my dog was drooling everywhere, I went and bathed her too. Thats when I got on the internet to look up this thing that was POISONING my dogs! It turns out I am not alone, not even close! I read the posts that I found and they all said wash the dog with dish soap to remove the chemicals, I re-washed both dogs with that. Both were still showing symptoms horribly itchy and restless refusing to settle down, like they had invisible things crawling on them, my chihuahua still drooling and vomiting foam. Finally at about 3 am, nearly 7 hours after application they finally went to sleep, although I think it was just from exhaustion. The Rat Terrier woke up still violently itchy and miserable, but happy to say she seems better this evening although she seems to have a strange foot twitch still affecting her. The Chihuahua after some watered down chicken broth to restore fluids seemed okay by morning. A very scary night, we are just hoping that there is nothing long term with the leg tick. Please do not use this product on your pet, it is dangerous!! Any one else have a similar story to share about this awful product?
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoIs having two receptions tacky if they are in the same place?
I am having a wedding with 100-120 people attending 30 or so from my side and the remaining guests from his side and his parents friends. His mom says that due to 'social obligations' they need to have another reception to include people that do not fit within that number of guests, her list was 138 people by its self. I say she should cut her list to fit within our numbers, she says she should have another reception for the people we wont be inviting, most of whom we would not consider inviting ourselves. Do we have a second reception to accommodate the people we would not invite to the wedding?
due to space limitations at the venue we cant have more than 120 people at the wedding, his family has offered to pay for the additional people that they expanded the guest list to include but are still unhappy with the available spaces(expanded from 100).

I have a White sewing machine, the needle goes up and down but the thread does not make the loop that would pick up the bobbin thread. I have used the machine many times before but it has been at my moms for a couple years. I have tried changing the needle and the tension.
7 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoWhy all the Mutt haters?
I understand the hatred for BYB's they cause problems for everyone. I don't understand why so many people on YA have such a problem with Mutts. I have had many Mutts as well as Papered AKC registered dogs, in general the mutts have been healthier. Genetic diversity is a good thing and there are so many dogs that are great and need good homes why cant people step down from their high horse and admit that mutts are often a great dog at a bargain price? Plus when you buy from a shelter your dog is already spayed or neutered and that is good for everyone. Proud owner of a rescue "Chimutta'(yes that is Chihuahua and MUTT)
25 AnswersDogs1 decade agowhy a bachelorette party and a bridal shower?
Didn't it used to be that the B2B got a Shower and the G2B got a Bachelor party and that was it? When did brides start getting two parties, I mean I understand that it sucks sitting around knowing he is out parting and you are at home, but doesn't it seem like you should get one or the other not both?

3 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoFather and Step Father, how do I handle who walks me down the isle and father daughter dance?
I am much closer to my Step Father than my Bio Father, however my bio dad and family from that side will still be attending my wedding. I would like my Step Dad to walk me down the isle as well as do a father daughter dance with me but I don't know how to balance this with also including my bio dad. Any ideas on how to include both dads in my ceremony?
