  • Weigth to Height ratio?

I just brought my 4 month old in for her shots on Friday. She is in the 10% for weight (11lbs 7oz), and 50% for height (24"). They are having us bring her in for weight check in a couple weeks to just make sure that is how she is going to grow. (she was 25-50% at her 2 month check-up proportionally)

Did any one else's baby not grow height/weight proportionally? The doctor said it could just be the way she will gain weight. (she was 8lbs 2oz at birth) I stopped BFing around 3 months, because we found out she had indigestion, and starting putting cereal in her formula at 3 months to help, which it has cut down her spit up by SOO much. She is definitely not a calm eater, and never falls asleep while eating, etc, like I hear other babies do.

Just want to hear of others who have had a skinnier baby. :)

  • Mother's intuition also work on when you will go into labor?

Did anyone just KNOW they were going to have their baby before the 40th week, or later than the 40th week?

I knew the second week I knew I was pregnant I was having a girl. I spoke to my monitrice last week, and she is into quantum touch, and I guess has a pretty high rate of knowing when a woman will go into labor. I told her in our meeting that I have just had a feeling since the beginning I was going to go early-and she said that if it is not an emotional reason (like you want to have a september baby, etc), then usually a mother's instinct is right. I won't have the quantum session until I am at 36 weeks-I'm currently at 32.

Just wondering if anyone else there just "felt" like they knew-and were right (or wrong)?

I know most first babies come late....

  • First time pregnancy, how many of you were under 3 days past your due date?

I'm just wondering, because I have a lot of people flying in. (grandparents) I am going to use hynobirth and a monitrice to help me along (but am going to one of the best hospitals in my city to deliver).

My mom is worried I will be a week or more late, and she said she would want me to be induced. Of course, it's my pregnancy and my choice-and the monitrice will teach in the class we are taking when induction is necessary and when it is not. I want to have a natural birth, and she strongly suggests not being induced if it is not for a medical reason (other than one being past the due date)...other wise your chances of having a natural birth goes down. (since the contractions are brought on stronger and sooner and with no breaks like a real labor)

So I'm just wondering-are there any women out there who have not gone 3 days past their due date on their first pregnancy? What should I do, when I have grandparents who want to be here for the birth?

Who knows, maybe I'll end up going 2 or 3 weeks early...but I've had a very uncomplicated and easy pregnancy, so I doubt that.

    Thanks!

  • leaking urine...I think?

I went in for my 25 week check up last week, and told the doctor I had been leaking urine. It had a yellow tinge and smelled a bit like urine... then this morning it didn't really smell the same-it had a sweet smell to it.

Now I'm reading online that it's only urine if you are leaking when you sneeze or cough. I literally leak all day long. I never have a day that I'm not wet. Has anyone else leaked urine all the time? I'm going to call my dr's, but my dr last week didn't seem concerned she said as long as it's yellow and smells like urine....

Maybe I'm just a bit more concerned because today it was a different smell to it. Let me know if I'm not the only one who constantly leaking urine! I do kegel excersizes to try and help, but it doesn't seem to be.

  • 40 weeks = 10 months...huh?

So I'm confused. There are 40 weeks in a pregnancy. That would equal 10 months. (I know some months are not just 4 weeks long) So when someone asks you how far along you are, and you are 24 weeks...you technically aren't 6 months along...you are 5 months along...with 4 more months to go. Where does that extra month hide? I'm totally confused.

I am at 24 weeks, and thought I was at 6 months-but then realized that I had 16 weeks/4 months left...so there was NO way I was 6 months along. It's all so confusing.

When does my 3rd trimester start?

  • Baby movements are tickelish?!?

So my baby is moving a lot more. I can mostly feel it down near my pubic bone/bladder area, and when I'm sitting and have pants on-that is where the tightest part of the pants are. When she moves when I'm sitting like that, it actually tickles my insides. Anyone else have that happen? Are my pants hurting her? They aren't too tight, perse, they feel fine to me if she wasn't tickling when I sit during work.

It's kind of cute, but I know she doesn't mean to be doing it. It's just so weird. And sometimes, when it's not ticklish it and the pants aren't tight, it actually kind of startles me-I think she is more punching or kicking at that point.

Just new to this mommy feeling thing. I'm at 24 weeks this saturday, and just in the past three days she is moving a LOT more. (or at least I can feel her all the time now)

  • Glucose test vs Urine Glucose check?

Does anyone know the difference between the glucose urine test they do at every appointment and the glucose test-besides one being a blood test and after they have you chug a glass of sugar?

I was just wondering because I've had no glucose or protein in my urine tests, so I wondered if that might mean I might have a good chance of passing my glucose test in 4 weeks when i have it. Also, my doctor said to eat like normal before having it, while I've read some women are told to fast....

  • Pulsating in lower adbomen?

I'm 21 weeks pregnant, and last night while I was sitting on the couch I got a very weird feeling in my lower abdomen. At first I thought it might be kicking, but then it continued and was too regular for kicking. I still don't feel the baby all the time yet. It was almost like my own heartbeat, but I could feel it on the outside.

It went away, then about an hour later it came back while I was in bed eating popcorn and drinking water. My husband, this time, could feel it to. It was super weird. Anyone know what this is? Or have had it happen to them? I've been reading online, and not sure if it could've been hiccups or maybe the major vein that goes through your abdomen.

I see the doctor today for my ultrasound (can't wait to find out what he/she is-and hope my instinct of it being a girl is right-hubby wagered me $100 it was a boy), so I plan on asking him about it anyways.

    Thanks!

  • 15 weeks with weird feeling in my belly!?

I know I've heard of quickening feeling like "fluttering", "bubbles", and "butterflies", and it's hard since this is my first pregnancy. I was wondering for those who remember their first time if at first you just thought it was a weird twitch or you just felt weird in your belly, but you couldn't specifically call it fluttering?

It started this past weekend, and if I have a little bit of caffeine or sugar, my tummy feels like it's rolling or twitching around-but it doesn't feel like butterflies or bubbles...just different. (I've had gas throughout the pregnancy, they are usually cramps and not what I am feeling)

Does this sound like I might just not able to tell it is quickening, since it's my first time? Do you remember not being sure?

I'm 15w3d, and my belly is already quite big (I'm 5', so I started showing a couple weeks ago).

    Thanks!

  • Question about Pregnancy Symptoms?

I'm 6.5 weeks along. Last week I was extremely exhausted, going to bed arond 930 at night and waking up at 730am. I also had terrible gas. In the last couple days, I'm not as tired anymore and it seems my gas has gone away. I was able to stay up until 1130 last night! I did have PMS symptoms (cranky), and my boobs are still very sore. I've tried to eat healthier for the baby, and didn't know if this would give me more energy so easily?

I was wondering if my symptoms will come and go throughout the early pregnancy? I know the disappearance of symptoms are one of the first signs of a miscarriage, which I can't prevent...but I'm just wondering if anyone else has some symptoms some days, and just one or two on others?
