  • Is it normal for 4/5th grade youth basketball to not post standings?

My son's 4/5th grade league refuses to post or share the league standings. I do not feel that this is a normal situation. Is anyone else seeing this with their kids leagues? I'd like to hear about the pros and cons of this situation. If you are associated with this type of league and are not getting standings, what is the reason you are given for withholding the information?

  • Why is Rush Limbaugh so anti-american?

I was trying to watch Rush on the CPAC coverage and all I heard was lie after lie after lie. Is there something I'm missing here? He was clearly making a stance against any effort to fix the country and support the new administration. That to me just states that he is anti-American. With so many people needing help, why would he be against helping them?

  • Is Sarah Palin the ultimate example of teaching to a test?

Watching the VP debate, it seemed clear to me that Palin was taught to work the debate. Does that training end there? I bring this up as a comparison to NCLB. My kids are being taught to take a test in order from the school system to survive. Palin might be able to answer questions at the debate but that does not indicate that those answers are her stances or that she actually has anything to offer past that. I feel that this is also a big misgiving of the NCLB process where our children are taught how to take a test but not taught the realities beyond the testing.

So my question goes to probe those interested in going beyond the answers, was Sarah Palin's presentation during the VP debate simply a mechanism of knowing what to say because she was coached for the situation or did you get the impression that she was offering replies based on knowledge gained previous to be being coached?

  • Why do NFL games get stopped with a 2:00 minute warning before the end of the half/game?

It would seem that each team is very aware of the time on the clock and that there is no need to stop the clock with 2:00 minutes left in the half/game at this day and age. This stopping of the clock is a freebie timeout for the team with the ball and that does not seem right. This NFL rule should be eliminated and the clock should be allowed to run as normal without any stopping of the clock.
