How do you show that
integral of (u^(a-1))*((1-u)^(b-1)) between 0 and 1 is:
Γ(a)Γ(b) / Γ(a+b) ?

If we take any non-zero number a, then
a = 2pi*i*(a/2pi*i)
So when we calculate
exp[a]
Why doesn't:
exp[a] = e^[2pi*i*(a/2pi*i)] = (exp[2pi*i])^(a/2pi*i) = 1^(a/2pi*i) = 1
hold?

Hi,
I'm doing a coursework on Satellite Navigation, and am doing a section on Time Dilation. My question is fairly simple- how come the formula for Gravitational time Dilation factor equation returns a figure less than 1, but the velocity dilation factor returns a number greater than one?
I'm completely lost by this because both of them cause time to slow down, so shouldn't they both be less than one?
The formula I'm using are:
grav dilation = sqrt(1 - 2GM/rc^2)
velo dilation = 1/sqrt(1-v^2/c^2)
