This really has me stumped. I've been searching for the answer for days now. For some strange reason, every single file, be they AVI, WMV, or MP4, is rejected by Virtualdub, saying that it could not locate the decompressor for format XXX and it needs a VFW compatible codec, not a Directshow codec. I've checked ffdshow, and all the codecs that were mentioned have been enabled. Yet it still doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated. Or if you could recommend another program that works just as well.

I already have the quicktime plugins and other files installed, and I can open the video just fine, but the problem is that I can't play it. It's just...green...

Anyone know what the problem is?

Lately, when I've been trying to compress videos in virtualdub, the audio always gets out of sync with the video. I've managed to fix that by adjusting the audio skew correction, but sometimes it doesn't work, and the compressed video not only has audio that's out of sync, but is also a bit jumpy.

Please help!

So I just finished compressing a video with virtualdub using Xvid codec. It is currently 285 MB. However, I want to get it down to 100 MB or lower for uploading. Are there any other programs to do that, or a way to use virtualdub to compress it far enough to lose the extra 185 MB?

I need to compress a 256 MB video file for uploading, and it needs to be 100 MB or lower. I've already tried VirtualDub and Windows Movie Maker, and have just gotten close, but not close enough. Can anyone suggest any other compression programs?

As you probably know, the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days and Birth by Sleep trailers from Tokyo Game Show 2008 have been leaked and subbed. I'm trying to find Japanese names based on elements, but I'm extremely picky and don't really like most of the ones I've already found.

Here's what I need help to find:

1. Boy name meaning wind, but nothing like just Kaze or Fuu...I've decided only to use those as a last resort, but it's okay if the name starts with those

2. Girl name meaning water, which is extremely hard to find...I've already found and rejected Mizu, Mizuki, Mizuno, Mizuko, everything that has the word mizu...anything besides those is fine...

Names related to either wind or water will work as well
