I understand what radio frequencies are, and how we use them, but I don't understand what it would really look like if we zoomed in and watched it in reality. Is a wave really an object that moves in an up and down pattern according to its frequency? Because that seems silly, or rather more of an analogy than reality.

Leave as much detail as you like, and please don't dumb it down either. I can handle difficult terminology

I'm searching for the name of the control in WPF or WinForms that encompasses a window within an application, like how you can close a workbook in excel without closing excel.

Does anyone know what this is? DockPanel? Grid? Canvas?

To begin, let me say that I'm running Windows 7, and also that I don't mean that the icons (e.g. Computer, Recycle Bin, etc.) on the desktop are simply disabled. I think my laptop battery died on me some day in the past and when I turned it on, everything was OK except no icons will show up on the desktop. Even if I manually put one there myself nothing shows up unless I open up a file browser and go to the desktop and everything is there.

Anyone know a solution, I think I've tried everything I know... Thanks in advance!

I just bought a bottle of Unforgivable cologne from an online e-tailer and it came sealed (so I know it hasn't been tampered with), but the bottle says "recharge" on the box, printed in factory writing.

What does that mean?

I've heard that the more expensive vodkas and rum (Skyy, Bacardi, Grey Goose, etc.) will leave you a much healthier and happier person in the morning than the cheaper ones, especially the very cheap alcohol you'll find in the carbonated drink section next to the Arizonas...

Is there any truth to that? Please elaborate and past experiences are more than welcome!

My friends iPhone was stolen a while ago and he is tired of waiting for his contract to end. We called an AT&T store and they said that he's not eligible for another discount for some time. Is there a discount to replace the phone at cheaper than msrp?

I jailbroke my 3rd generation iPod Touch with blackra1n, and now the iPod boots to the restore screen (with the plug and an iTunes logo) unless I connect the iPod to the computer and run blackra1n again, and everything is back to normal until it shuts down again.

So that seems to be the only way to boot the iPod, by jailbreaking it again.

I restored the iPod and that fixes the problem, but I want my iPod jailbroken. Anyone have any fixes?

Is there some way to tell what generation iPod Touch I have. I know it's either second or third, and I'm leaning third. It's killing me not knowing.

Assuming you're walking and an officer decides to question you, do you have to tell him anything more than your name?
