Can you use wall stickers (decals) to decorate light / lampshades?
I've bought two sets of wall stickers for our little boy's nursery. I'm planning to stick one set on the walls and use the second set to decorate toy boxes etc.
I'd like to decorate a plain lamp shade for the ceiling light by sticking some of the stickers to it, possibly with superglue to provide a stronger adhesion. Can anyone advise if this will work or not? I'm concerned that either they will fall off because the heat from the light will dry out the glue, or that they will melt or something!
Has anyone tried this?
4 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling9 years agoWhy is car overheating so quickly?
I have a P-reg 1.3L petrol Toyota Corolla. Tonight I noticed that the temperature had crept up to midway very quickly (within a couple of minutes of starting from cold). I kept an eye on the temperature gauge and it continued to rise. I ended up making it to a petrol station by pulling over every few minutes to let the engine cool for 5 minutes. I topped up the coolant and let the engine cool down for around half an hour. By this point, the temperature gauge was around a quarter of the way round, not quite at mid point.
I continued to drive home, but kept having to pull over as the temperature was still creeping up towards the red pretty quickly. It seemed to cool to midway quickly once the engine was switched off each time.
What could be causing this and is it likely that I'll have more problems tomorrow, even though the engine will have cooled completely overnight?
I'm 24 weeks pregnant so don't want to set off for work only to get stranded somewhere!
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoBlank Login Screen (Windows 7) following system crash?
Hi everyone, hope you can help.
Our laptop started to play up unexpectedly a few days ago - a black screen with blue error box (not BSOD) would appear intermittently, following which the laptop would restart. Nothing was coming up on the scans, everything else was otherwise working okay. When I logged into my husband's profile, as it was happening more often to him, I noticed a vshare 'search engine' homescreen on IE, which he said had just started to appear one day. I went in to Control Panel / Uninstall Programs, and uninstalled a Hotbar which I knew nothing about, followed by the vShare item. After the uninstall, the system froze, so I had to restart.
On the restart, it seemed to boot okay. The 'system has shut down unexpectedly' page appeared as expected due to the aforesaid system crash, but I selected the start-up normally option as opposed to safe modes. Then when the light blue login screen background appeared, some symbols popped up on the screen (looked like a webdings type font), and the user login icons didn't appear. The system then seemed to keep trying and went into a little loop of login screen appearing, symbols popping up, then a quick flash and the login screen, symbols etc pops up, and on it goes. It does this all the time and I can't login to try and do anything about it!
Does anyone know what has caused this and if it can be fixed? I've considered trying a system repair using the OS installation disc, but would like some advice first. I'd rather see what I can do to repair the problem first, as there's some files I want off the hard drive :(
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks everyone

4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoOpenOffice Base Form: How to activate font colour change when box ticked?
I'm creating a client database using OpenOffice base and in one form, I'd like to use a control whereby if a box is ticked ('Account Inactive' field), the remaining field text boxes are altered, preferably with the font greyed out or the background of the text boxes changed, to signify that this particular record is inactive.
Any ideas anyone? I'm just getting to know Base for the first time and I'm not a programmer, so you'll have to guide me through!!
Thanks everyone xxx
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoCan I download drivers to CD/USB on one computer to then install on another computer?
I've reinstalled Windows XP Professional on a second hand laptop. I now need to reinstall the drivers to get it working correctly, but I can't currently access the internet on it. Can I use another computer to download the drivers to USB or CD, to then insert into the laptop and download/install?
3 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoHow do I add another laptop to my home network?
I have a Virgin Media broadband connection via Netgear Wireless router plugged into a modem. I set this up using our existing laptop, which runs on Windows 7 OS.
I now want to add another laptop to the network which runs on Windows XP Professional but I don't know how!
The XP laptop has been wiped and had the OS reinstalled on it, so I'm starting from scratch.
I currently connect wirelessly to the home network on our W7 laptop, but I can't even figure out how to set up wifi on the new laptop. I know its capable of it.
I've tried running the wizards and plugging the XP laptop into the Wireless router, but I really don't know what I'm doing!!
Please help!! :)
