  • Is there any way to see if the insurance company authorized repairs?

Almost 2 weeks ago I sent the insurance company (who is representing the at fault party) a damage estimate w/ pictures. Now the adjuster is ignoring all of my calls and has sent me nothing. Meanwhile, tthey're "authorized repair center" is urging me to have my car repaired by them although they have no proof that the insurance company authorized repairs.

  • How soon will USAA pay out a collision damage claim for the damage their client caused?

I was rear ended by someone who is insured through USAA. Now they've requested photos and an estimate for the damage, which I just sent in. My questions are: how soon will they pay out the claim and will they pay it out as a check?

  • What are the chances that a company will sell a car along with their registration and tag?

I was in a car accident at work, shortly after I was fired and my employer refuses to continue paying for my medical treatment. Although the other party was at fault, subsequently I was terminated because I had sustained a fracture and couldn't do the same work. Unfortunately, the person who hit me "cannot be found" and the vehicle owner claims no responsibility because "the car was previously sold." During this whole headache I went back to the police dept. that initially took the report, there I was told that they ran the license plates and vehicle registration at the scene that matched the initial owner.

  • What should I do to help my friend?

A have a very complicated relationship with a friend of mine. Recently I've had to do something very harsh and cruel, although it was morally and legally right. My friend is a cocaine addict and I had to do something to wake him up. I have basically cut off all communication with him because if I speak to him he'll sucker me into having his way. I'm also afraid that if i continue not speaking to him, he will go further down the spiral and overdose or kill himself. What should I do?

  • How do I divorce this jerk?

A few months ago I married a man who lied to me about his legal status in the U.S. I found out about his deceit when the FBI showed up on my doorstep. Before all of this we were having marital problems and did not live together ( which I told INS and the FBI). I also told them that I had no intention of sponsoring him for citizenship. My main question, is how long will it take for him to be deported? He has been evading my service of the divorce papers and I'm not sure how to serve him if he has been deported.

  • what are disabilities of non-age?

For instance the Alabama Code states: "The several juvenile courts of the state are authorized to relieve minors over 18 years of age from the disabilities of nonage in the following cases and none other:

    (1) Whenever the father or the mother of such minor shall file a petition with the court, in writing, requesting that such minor be relieved from the disabilities of nonage, and the court shall be satisfied that it is to the best interest of such minor. The parent filing such petition shall aver whether he or she is the guardian of such minor.

    (2) Whenever any such minor, having no father, mother, or guardian, or if a parent is living but is insane or has abandoned such minor for one year, shall file a petition with the court to be relieved of the disabilities of nonage, and the court shall be satisfied that it is to the interest of such minor."

Does this mean that an under age person will be considered over age or does it mean a person over 18 can become emancipated (like if I were 22 and not considered an adult for financial aid until age 24).

  • How does an appeal work?

Do I have to file an appeal within X amount of days of the jugement of the case or the judgement of the last hearing. Say for instance i am sued for hitting a car... I agree to pay x amount there is a rehearing because the other party wants more. I miss the hearing and the other party wins. I file for rehearing but the judge denies it. Can I appeal the motion for rehearing? Or am I too late?

  • Can I sue someone twice for a different cause of action? (Read Carefully)?

I sued someone for running a stop sign and totaling my car. We agreed on an amount signed a settlement agreement. Once the case was dismissed they told me that they were not going to honor it. I tried to enforce the agreement but the hearing date kept changing and I missed it. I am now trying to sue the person who hit me again with additional defendants. My question is can the newly added defendants be excluded as well?

Everyone tells me that riding a motorcycle is more about balance than anything else. I am about to take a MSF course before I get my license, but I want to know if I'll need something smaller to ride after the course.

  • How many of you are willing to sign the Caylees law petition?

In July of 2008, Caylee Marie Anthony was reported missing by her grandmother who told the cops that she had been missing for 31 days. Her mother Casey insisted she was kidnapped by the nanny and she had been conducting her own investigation. Caylee's body was recovered in Dec 2008, while her mother Casey Anthony sat in jail on charges of felony murder. On July 5,2011 Casey Anthony was found not guilty of all charges other than lying to law enforcement her defense was that her daughter had died in the family swimming pool and the death had been covered up by her father and herself. Had federal laws been in place, Caylee may have found some justice. The laws need to change:

Any parent or caregiver that doesn't report a child under the age of six, missing if that child has been missing more then one hour, is guilty of felony child neglect.

Any parent or caregiver who falsely reports the circumstances of an accident or injury a child under the age of six, is guilty of felony child neglect.

  • Is this even legal or is it a violation of my rights?

After I was served with a lawsuit, about a month ago, I filed an answer as quickly as possible. There was a docket hearing about two weeks ago. During that hearing the judge asked if we could settle the suit, so the opposing lawyer tells the judge that we could. After the hearing I was told by the clerk that I could leave while the judge and the lawyer talk. When I spoke to the opposing lawyer we agreed on a temporary solution until trial. A few days ago I received an order from the judges office saying that we had settled the case and it was dismissed. Let me say that most of the terms were not mentioned to me and I NEVER signed anything or agreed to ANY of these terms. My question is, how can a lawyer tell a judge that I agreed to something when I didn't agree or sign it?
