I froze some bacon before it's expiry date then defrosted it last Monday. I ate some of it on Monday so the packet was open (though the plastic was covering the bacon, not wide open!) and now I want to eat some it. It doesn't smell, isn't slimy and isn't green. Can I eat it??

I've recently moved into a new flat (which I own) and we had to have an electric hob as there wasn't a gas tap in the kitchen. I want to make pancakes this morning. I warmed the pan up on the hob for about 20mins before putting the mixture in and after another 20mins, it hasn't even started to cook! What is going wrong? Is the pan too big?
