I'm running 1/0 3 AL 120' . Would like to splice 1/0 3copper to each end to avoid the tightning probs?
Is it ok to splice like the last 2' with the copper on both ends so I will avoid the expand / shrink and oxidation problems with Aluminum? I realize that this will create more splices and that I will need to put the splices in waterproof direct burial enclosures. I will be running this through SCH 40 2" PVC . I will make the enclosures accessable so that I can retighted the AL lugs as needed. I will be using 1 ought 3 conductor URD on a 125 amp box. Or am I'm going to far and that I should just Tie the AL from house panel to the garage panel and forget the copper?
