"Let poetry into your life" - Breathy, intense and scary. Is this wooing the public?
This is simply a poll to anyone who appreciates the BBC's efforts to open the door of poetry to the wider audience. I haven't quite been seduced by any celebrity reader. Is anyone appreciating it?
However, I'm sure there are some poems that rock, e.g. song lyrics. What do you like?
1 AnswerPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhen will the finale of this years "Heroes" be and what channel?
I can't stop watching this show now. But the BBC haven't put on the final episode of this series (april 2009) on next week's listings. Where is it. I saw the penultimate episode last night on BBC3. When's the next?
Any help, much appreciated.

6 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoNow apple has finally kicked out DRM from iTunes, will I be able to convert my (rather pricey) m4p collection?
I know, it's the most infuriating thing to spend a lot of money on a track (e.g. an audiobook) to discover, as it's too long to put on a CD, you can't change it to mp3 to cut it down.
Is itunes going to be able to convert this awful format back to mp3 now the drm function is gone?
4 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoWhy an ipod is NOT the right choice as a music player.?
I am seriously annoyed with my music player. The fact that I am is not without grounds I shall post later on. But first, please add why you think that iPod needs replacing as the music player of of the masses.
(N.B. if anyone likes their ipod and thinks you got a good deal, please elaborate as well. This is an open forum....)
13 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoA pair of in-ear head phones that last longer than 3 months?
How annoying is it when you're listening to a new album, book etc. and then one of your in ear head phones gives up the ghost, leaving you with bad sound.
Do head exist that are manufactured to be break resistant? If so, tell us your experience here and we'll make a thoughtful manufacturer a nice profit this Christmas.
So, that's sturdy In ear Headphones that will not break in under a year.
Thanks for your time!
3 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoIs the banking crisis over? ?
The banks surely seem ready to start lending again. I keep on getting letters saying I've been pre-approved a massive loan.
At last, I can rest easy knowing that billions of taxpayers money is in very scrupulous and discerning hands.
13 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoWhat is a decent freeview box - a set top box that is pre-programmable and compatible with a hard drive?
I've got Panasonic DMR - EH-50. It's quite good, only a bit old and so doesn't have freeview tuner in it. I'm looking for a decent set-top box (minus the recorder part of many) that has a 7 day electronic program guide which speaks to a hard drive recorder through it. My TV used to do this however then I got a new HDdvd recorder that has a DTV tuner in it as well as a hard drive. I don't want to get rid of my old one as its still quite good. I just need the name of a set top box that can be programmed to switch to and record (through another machine) programmes.
2 AnswersTiVO & DVRs1 decade agoI own a Panasonic Hard drive. How can I get it to record a digital signal?
I own a Panasonic Hard Drive recorder DMR-EH-50. Unfortunately, it has no digital tuner. How can I modify it so it records a digital signal. What would I need to let the hard drive still work now the analogue signal is so weak/turned off?
1 AnswerOther - Electronics1 decade agoPlease help. I'm looking for the leg attachments that are basically big springs what are their names?
I saw these on bbc news a few months ago. They consist of 2 leg attahments (one for each leg) that are like big springs shaped like a dinosaur leg (joints out the back).
I know they exist as I've seen them on the TV. Does anyone know what they're called or where I can get hold of a pair?
People use them to bounce around, exercise, etc.
4 AnswersOther - Sports1 decade agoGuys - hit the water or the bowl?
Simple choice. Make a splash or not? Situation = Someone's in the room next door (so not secluded in a forest glade miles from anywhere - where it's pretty much obligatory to hit the water)
9 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWelcome to an (unofficial) Apple(tm) complaint page. Please contribute your story here. Read mine too!?
Last Christmas the radio adverts were full of news about the digital radio "robi" for ipod. Great news - the digital radio is top-notch.
That's what I thought - so - I bought my robi. At exactly the same time that it arrived, apple released firmware update for my nano 5th gen. After this was installed, robi now turned off, along with ipod after 2 minutes.
I complained to apple. I complained to Roberts. However, only with Roberts did I get through to someone vaguely in charge. Apple was impossible to get through to (you know - automated telephone system followed by foreigner who subsequently took details and then never got in touch again).
Now they still haven't released any further update nor got in touch. Does anyone know a decent contact number for apple? Stories of complaint please + any decent contact details for apple (you can private e-mail me these).

I'm trying to save space on my hard drive. Is there a program that can represent the hard drive as a distributional pie chart / graph?

1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoPS3 question - Compatability with Samsung PDP?
I have a ps42q96hdx/xeu - 42" plasma Samsung panel. Although I can watch dvds and play games through it - it doesn't recognise the ps3 OS.
When I try to access it the Samsung Display panel says :
(i) Mode not supported.
1 AnswerPlayStation1 decade agoIlle, illa illud. Ring any bells?
Do we live in an English speaking society that has forgotten its roots (and endings)? Namely the use of -i to denote a plural second declension noun. Anyone remember "dominus" - who's plural is domini.
Therefore not dominuses.
Then why are health care professionals being incorrectly taught (in my opinion) that the plueal of virus is viruses? Surely it should be virii?
