  • how do psychedelics affect your goals/aspirations?

i have been interested on doing psychedelics(psilocybin, dmt, ayahuasca, etc.). however i am on the path of becoming a doctor, still in school, and am also very focused in sports, wrestling. can psychedelics benefit my goals and aspirations or will they change my life completely and have me abandon everything i care about. i am a very passionate person, but i do want to try these entheogens. what are your experiences? have you been able to function and continue with your ordinary life, or has it drastically changed you?

  • hp pavilion dv6 is no longer playing videos like it used to?

i bought my laptop last december, it has been working perfectly until it mysteriously restarted erasing all of my files. it still worked fine and thankfully i didnt have anything too important saved. anyways that was 3 weeks ago, it still played videos on youtube perfectly and i could play videos of the highest quality in hd without having to wait for it to buffer. three days ago i turned on my computer and realized that i could no longer play videos like i used to. it doesnt pre-load and it constantly buffers. i can still surf the web fine and it is still super fast, the only problem is watching videos. any suggestions?

  • im having problems in my bjj gym, what should i do?

well i've been training bjj for about one and a half years now and im having problems in my gym. im in the teens class and i've improved greatly since my first day. the problem is, my teacher is a very old school brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter who trained with royce gracie and thinks that old school bjj is the unstoppable and nothing beats it. he trains us everyday the same basic moves because he wants us to master the basics. i understand that but i've been wanting a taste of more advanced move. i bought dozens of bjj books and saw countless videos and was opened up to new techniques. my trainer only teaches us full guard, side control, and mount techniques, but now im doing the rubber guard, x guard, advanced half guard, and butterfly guard. i thought i would be respected but my trainer tries to convince me to stop learning. i practice a lot with my friend who also wants to learn more advanced bjj techniques and the same thing is happening to him. its not like we only practice advanced moves, we do both basic and advanced. but our trainer still tells us to only practice basics. i feel as if he tries to stop our bjj from evolving because whenever we learn something new he tries to show all the negatives of that move and calls it obsolete. but the moves we are learning are new moves made by eddie bravo or popularized by marcelo garcia. i really like the atmosphere and people in the gym, but i feel that i wont be able to evolve in bjj if my trainer keeps on thinking that only the older techniques work. i believe we should learn as much as possible to adapt to every situation, but my trainer doesn't. so im asking anyone to give me advice on what i should do. should i stay at my gym, try another martial art, talk to my trainer about my problems, or move to another gym that teaches up to date techniques and are more open minded.

  • for all of you boxers/boxing fans?

im a big fan of boxing and a practitioner of mma. i notice that many of you believe that in a fight the boxer will win against an mma fighter all the time.why is that? im not giving out any disrespect but i haven't found any 100% proof boxers would always win. i believe a mma fighter will win because he knows how to punch, kick, elbow, knee, take down, and submit. i don't think the mma fighter will win all of the time but probably 8 out of 10. can someone who disagrees tell me a legitimate answer why?

  • my new system of practice?

i have been doing bjj for a while and wanted to find a way to get even better.i have been reading bruce lee books and he always says to never telegraph moves. i noticed that you can tell what submission your opponent will make just by looking at where their eyes move. so the next time my friend and i do extra practice at home we'll be blind folded. if we practice moves over and over again blindfolded we wont have to use our eyes and only our touch. does this sound like a good idea?

im thinking of joining the wrestling team and i've been doing bjj for a while now. will it help me at all or at least let me have more chances of getting accepted than guys who never did a grappling art. also i know a lot of take downs(hip throw, Double leg/single leg, leg sweeps), i have a real good sprawl, and i've learned lots of clinches.

  • who would win in this fight/spar?

i challenged my friend to spar with me to see who would win. rules: no striking, just grappling. who ever taps someone out wins. and no small joint locks.

ME: 3 months of bjj, weigh more than him, know how to escape most basic moves

HIM: stronger, in better shape, no experience in submission fighting, knows basic play wrestling moves like headlocks and takedowns.
