I am trying to learn studio work please help?
When i try to take a pic with a black backdrop everyone looks orangy and when i use the grey one the backdrop has a orangy look again. The white works ok but the subjects skin looks dull and merky. Could someone tell me what i am doing wrong? I am just learning and i am very frustrated. I am using halogen lights in softboxes. I have a strobe as well that i use to make the backdrop really white and that works great it is just the skin thats weird in those. I am using a nikon d3100 and a 24 70 2.8 lens. My outdoor pics are great i never thought studio would be this hard;b....thanks for your help and yes i bought expensive glass because i will buy a better camera later on....hope i did the right thing
1 AnswerDrawing & Illustration9 years agoI have a nikon d3100 what would be the next lens to buy?
I have a 18-55 and 50 1.4G. I am into taking portraits and was wondering what the next best lens to buy would be? I am wanting to do this seriously eventually so i need to make a very smart decision on my lens. thanks for your time
6 AnswersCameras9 years agoI have a 50mm 1.4G lens and i was wondering?
Why when i take a pic my subjects hand is blurred or part of there body. How do i stop this from happ ening? Do i use a higher aperture instead of 1.4 maybe 2.8or higher. I am just a beginner so please have patience. I want to take classes but there isn't anything good where i live. I thought of an on line course where you get cds to teach you. Would that help? Thanks. Oh and i find it has trouble to autofocus so i have to let go of the button and redo is this known for this lens because if not i need to return it.
3 AnswersCameras9 years agoDid anyone ever take the course learn and master photography with Vince Wallace?
Just wondering if it helped you learn alot about photography and is it worth buying? It is really expensive to take courses through Henrys and i was wondering if this would be just as good? Thanks for your help
Photography9 years agoWhich lens should i pick for nikon d3100?
ok i love portraits with awesome bokeh and i want to take great pics of my kids playing ect and close ups. I have saved up and realllly need help on making the best decision for a lens. What is my best option with these 3. 50mm 1.4, 105 2.8 macro, or the 18-200 vr. Which one will be the best in your opinion that i would get the most use out of. i am stressing because the more i read the more confused i become.
2 AnswersCameras9 years agoSeriously need help!!!! What is the best lens for a nikon d3100 for doing portraits and shooting kids?
I was looking at the 18-200 but was told the pic quality is not that good compared to other lens. If you have any thoughts to this let me know. I want something that does abit of close up, telephoto, portrait. Even if it is a lens that can do a bit of all of this would help. My budget is 700-1000.
4 AnswersCameras9 years agoWhat is the best lens i should buy if i want a portrait lens with some telephoto as well?
I have a nikon d3100 with the 18-55 and 50mm 1.8 but i would like to buy something with more reach and decent in low light. Kids running around it would have to auto focus decently. Would something macro be ok so i would have close up as well? I was thinking of the 60mm 2.8 or the 105 but i am not sure it is so hard i read alot of reviews and everyone has such different opinions that i am more confused so some help would be awesome. I also have the 70-300 but i don't think it was the right choice for my needs i thought of getting the tamron 90mm 2.8 but i am also not sure because i want top quality pics and everyone seems to say the brand of your camera lens is the best way to go:(
1 AnswerPhotography9 years agoI have a nikon 50mm 1.8 lens what would be the next great portrait lens i should buy?
I don't know maybe something with a little bit more reach then the 50mm. A lens with sharp pics and decent quality.
5 AnswersCameras9 years agoWhat is the best lens for me? Nikon d3100?
I shoot lots of portraits and my kids playing ect. I want to do some wedding photography when i go to weddings. What is the best lens for me? Right now i have 18-55, 70-300 vr, and 50mm 1.8 manual focus. Which should be my next purchase? For this type of photography should i get rid of th 70-300 or can i do portraits with it to? Thanks i am learning and i read lots about lens and i am not sure if i made a mistake buying the 70-300 lens for my purposes. Thanks for all the help
4 AnswersCameras9 years agokeep the 70-300 or return it for a 18-200 nikon lens?
I have a trial period with the 70-300 got it for 420 brand new since it was a great deal i thought i would try it. Not overly impressed. Would you return it for the 18-200 or keep 70-300 and keep saving to buy the lens eventually. Need some advice thanks:)
1 AnswerCameras9 years agoI just bought a 70-300mm to go on my nikon d3100 does it do nice bokeh?
I wanted this lens for some portraits and taking pics of the kids doing tricks on there scooters and such. I haven't had the chance to try it so i was wondering what you experienced hobbiest or photographers think of this lens. Was it an ideal lens for everyday photography? I have a 50mm 1.8 which i love but there is no auto f plus the kit lens. Thanks
1 AnswerCameras9 years agoI have a nikon d3100 which should be my next lens purchase? 18-200 or 55-200?
