Is my landlord responsible for fixing appliances?
We are renting a house with a 1 year lease. The lease says the the house is equipped with a stove, fridge, washer and dryer. The dryer recently started making all kinds of strange noises when running. My landlord said he is not obligated to repair or replace the appliance. He said most rentals are not supplied with these and he did it as a favor. He also said If it breaks completely, I can bring in my own dryer.
9 AnswersRenting & Real Estate8 years agoDo I need to refrigerate my apple pie liquor?
I made a batch of apple pie shots, which is basically apple cider, juice, sugar, cinnamon and everclear. Do I need to refrigerate (because of the apple ingredients) this for long term storage, or just put on the shelf with my other liquors? Thanks

What is considered better? I know email can be easier and better for someone that is techy, but I'm wondering if it can lost in someone's inbox too easily. In your opinion, which is a better method of sending a resume. Thanks.

I plan on making this recipe in a slow cooker: http://www.crock-pot.com/Recipe.aspx?rid=265

Thanks

I plan on using this 20" actuator for a small project. It is rated at moving 1/2" per second with no load. At that rate, it's full travel will be done in 40 seconds.

I need to make it slower. Say 1/4" or even 1/8" per second or slower. Is this possible? With some kind of voltage control?
Thanks,
Jeff

2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoFinancial Aid Loan Limits?
I'm an independant student attending a 2-year technical college. I'm funding my education with Federal loans. I know the maximum you can borrow is determined by what year your are enrolled (ex: freshman, sophomore, junior, senior).
How do I know which I am? Are these based on a 4-year college? I have completed 41 of the required 70 credits for my associates degree.
Thanks
1 AnswerFinancial Aid1 decade agoDo buses and government vehicles need to abide by the speed limit?
I always see school buses, city buses, and city, county workers flying by me. Do they need to follow speed limits? and why do I never see the police pull one of them over? Like a police car stopping a city bus?
The odds are if I went 10-15 mph over the limit, like these guys, there would be a officer waiting to write me a ticket.
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoRoot Canals, I need a professional opinion.?
My wife had a root canal and crown done about a month ago and the total cost was around $1400. This was the upper left rear tooth.
She now needs a root canal on the opposite tooth, on the bottom. She went for the first procedure which cost around $750, which I assume was acutally removing the roots. Now for the next appointment, they told us it will cost an additional $1600 for the buildup and crown.
Could there be that much difference in these procedures to justify the extra $700-800 they want to bill us for this tooth versus the last one they did a month ago?
Thanks.
3 AnswersDental1 decade agoSaving for retirement on my own?
I was watching The Suze Orman Show on CNBC and the discussion was on saving for retirement. Sue caluclated if you started at age 25, investing $100 each month until your are age 65, into a retirement savings account yielding a 12% annual return, the amount you would have in 40 years would be $1,000,000.
I understand how this works with compounding interest, my question is where do I setup an account like this to deposit the example $100 a month into? Is there a retirement savings account that you can start with a zero balance and receive a 12% annual return?
I'm a full time college student and probably someday will have a 401k, I would like to start my own savings in the mean time.
Thanks for the help
