Was this too late to call?
I called a client at 6:50pm today (Thursday) and before I could get more than a few words in, had the phone quickly snatched away by the husband on the other end who promptly chewed me out and claimed that I should know better than to be calling outside "business hours". He asked that I never do it again and promptly hung up the phone. While certainly outside office OPERATING hours (9-5), it was not in my mind close to 8 or 9pm, which would have indeed been rude. Not to mention that the call was not a solicitation call, but was in regards to something they would have a very vested interest in clearing up.
Was I in the wrong?
