  • Can someone help with this Algebra 2 question?

    The problem is: (log 3,x)^2 + (log 3,x^2) = -1

I ended up with an answer of x= (1)/(the cube root of three)

The actual answer is 1/3... so could someone help me see where I went wrong? Thanks in advance

  • How do you say this in French?

How do you say "I have been angry with you for a long time" in French? (I only need help with the verb).

Would you say "J'ai été"... AKA use the passé composé? I thought the passé composé was only used for things that have already ended, while in my sentence I am still mad at the person. The only other option I can think of it is l'imparfait, but that also is for things that are currently over.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Can someone help with this algebra I question?

An integer is 2 less than a number, and another integer is 1 greater than twice the same number. What are the 2 integers if they add up to 14? I set up a key, x = the number the 2 integers are compared to, y = the first integer, and z = the second integer. The equations i set up are y=x-2, z=2x+1, and 14=y+z. I can't remember how to solve from here. I remember how to solve when there's 2 variables and 2 equations. I tried the same principle, and got y=12 and z=29. 12+29 doesn't equal 14... so I failed. Can someone kindly walk me through it? Thanks so much!

  • Which of these books is a good read?

For summer reading I have to read two books. I'd like to know what 2 of these books you'd consider the best for me.

I am an advanced reader, and two recent books I enjoyed reading were A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith and The Call of the Wild by Jack London.

    The books are:

**The House of Spirits - Isabel Allende

    **Anna Karenin - Leo Tolstoy

    **John Adams - David McCullough

**Gone With the Wild - Margaret Mitchell

    **Moby Dick - Herman Melville

    Sula - Toni Morrison

A Lesson Before Dying - Ernest J. Gaines

    Invisible Man - Ralph Ellison

She's Come Undone - Wally Lamb

I need to read at least one book with the (**) marking, but the other book can have it or not.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Which of these songs is most likely going to be the US Billboard song of the year?

    Rihanna - We Found Love

    Fun. - We Are Young

Gotye & Kimba - Somebody That I Used To Know

Kelly Clarkson - Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)

ADELE - Set Fire To The Rain

LMFAO - Sexy And I Know It

    Flo Rida - Wild Ones

    Nicki Minaj - Starships

Katy Perry - Part of Me

    Justin Bieber - Boyfriend

If your prediction isn't listed, name it.

PS: It's june. Usually the song of the year is released pre-summer. I can't think of a time where it wasn't, so I think it's safe to guess now.

  • Can someone explain how to do this simple math question?

It's extra credit, which I'm usually good at, but for some reason this is confusing me.

You are taking a test tomorrow. There are 38 questions on it. Your current grade in the class is an 82 and the exam counts for 35% of your final grade. What do you need to get on it in order to get a B+ (an 87)?

  • What is a good cover artist...?

(Solo or band) that covers predominately modern music. I like when good cover artists cover no-so-good songs and make them good and when they add their own twist to them.

I like alternative, pop, and rock artists (mainly).

    Thanks in advance!

  • How do you do Mixture Word Problems?

If you explain how to do this problem I will probably get the rest! Thanks for all the help!

"Colleen has 20% and 15% solutions of saline solution. How much of each should she mix together to get 5 liters of 18% saline solution?"

It seems like the answer is easy to guess, but some of the later problems aren't. Thanks again!
