  • I connected a tv to my laptop now the resolution keeps flickering.?

I have a Gateway NV55C Laptop with an Intel HD Graphics display adapter and Windows 7 Home Premium. Earlier I connected my laptop to my TV via HDMI and now whenever I open my laptop the resolution momentarily shrinks then returns to normal, sometimes messing with my windows. Is there any way to disable this?

  • How can I use my Instant Messaging services via my browser?

Recently I have been moving my life to the cloud. This is mostly thanks to Google's services. How can I do this with my IM services? I know there is Meebo but I want to have it show in the sidebar and their addon isn't compatible with Firefox 5.

  • I want to store my movies on my computer...?

I have a few hundred dvds and am quickly running out of space. I want to store my less watched movies on a networked computer and watch them on a tv through a "streaming device."

My question: Is there a digital medium that will preserve the previews, menus, chapters and bonus features of the disc? Is there a pre-built box or a software set that will show cover art and allow for filtering based on genre? (Netflix support is a plus)

One must have pride in what one does.

One cannot "do" gay, so how can one have pride in it?

By the way, I'm gay so no accusing me of being homophobic.

  • What's up with people?

What's up with national organizations working to alter the course of a single state's legislation when the members of that organization do not live in that state?

    Here's a recent example:

  • Why are people being so mean?

I go through the LGBT section quite frequently and I do see quite a few intolerant questions. I just do not understand why people need to be so mean in their answers. We should be trying to show intolerant people how to better themselves instead of lowering ourselves down to their level. These people live for the kind of answers they are receiving. Can someone please explain to me why so many people feel the need to be so hurtful?

  • I'm looking for a movie I watched as a kid.?

The movie opens and introduces us to a family. We have a mother and her two kids, a boy and his younger sister. The father went to war and died. After a bit, the mother is driving through town and hits a drifter with her car. Feeling sorry, she takes him into her home until he gets better. In the mean time, the drifter does what he can to help the family and we find out that his dog is actually a genie. They had met a while back and his wish was to travel with the genie granting wishes to those who showed them kindness. The genie granted the wishes of the little girl and the mother. The little girl wishing she could fly with the fireworks, and the mother wishing for the return of the father. The boy discovers this and does not know what to wish for so the man makes the wish for him. Years later the boy finds the mans grave, and amazingly he and the genie are standing there for a moment and explains to the kid what the wish was, for the kid to have a happy life.
