  • My family is dead and I have no friends?

My mother, father, and both my dogs are dead. I don't have any relationship with extended family members. I don't have any friends that I interact with regularly. I used to have good grades in college but then I became homeless. Now I just work at the local dollar store and try to keep myself happy. I don't want to do anything anymore.

  • How do I find out about my inheritance?

Both of my parents died within a year of one another. My father owned land and I haven't heard anything about it. How do I look into that? How do I pay taxes on this?

I don't know much about any of this, any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Jobs where you don't have to interact with people?

I have bad social anxiety. Whenever I go grocery shopping I freak out while waiting in the line. I don't like being crowded by people, and I have bad panic attacks. I worked as a cashier for 6 months and I hated it, and I have a new job now, but its a cashier job. I start soon and I don't know if I can handle it again.

So are there any jobs that don't require you interact with anyone. I need to support myself to pay rent and get food, so I can't drop everything and get a four year degree or anything like that.

  • Would I be eating too much fish?

If I were to eat a can of tuna, a can of salmon, and a can of sardines, each once per week, would that be too much fish in my diet? I ask because I am concerned with the mercury levels, and I wanted to know if it was unhealthy. Thanks.

  • Should I put this on my resume?

I got my first job about six months ago. I'm a cashier. To get the job I walked about 8 to 10 miles everyday applying to places. The day I got my job, I walked 14 miles, after going to the second interview and taking my drug tests. I show up to work 5 minutes early everyday, and regularly take shifts other people don't want.

I'd prefer a more solitary job, because being a cashier quite frankly sucks.

I was wondering, if I should list these things on my resume when I apply to new jobs. Thank you.

  • Assertion failed! Pygame music?

Hello, I was trying to see how music worked in Python and typed:

    pygame.mixer.music.load("Maid with the Flaxen Hair.mp3")

    pygame.mixer.music.play(-1, 0.0)

but when I start the program I get the message:

    Assertion failed!

    Program: C:\Python33\pythonw.exe

    File:..\..\audio\mpegtoraw.cpp

    Line: 505

    Expression: audio->rawdatawriteoffset > len

I don't know much about any of that, but as far as I can tell it's something in the Python script. Anyway, I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm trying to make a game and would like music in it eventually. Thank you

  • Famous or important people who got a late start?

Are there any important people (scientists, doctors, famous people, etc.) who got a late start in their life? Bruce Lee took up kung fu at age 12. Muhammad Ali took up boxing at age 12. Benjamin Franklin was enrolled in school at a young age and apprenticed young too. Einstein went through school and college for most the first part of his life. Are there any people who started late (like an age between 20 and 40) and then went on to become an important scientist or fighter? Or anything important really. I'm curious.

And I don't mean famous celebrities or movie actors or anything like that. Thanks for your input

  • Hiking without permits?

Out of curiosity I was looking at hiking trails, and a lot of them require permits. The Florida Trail alone has at least five and all of them cost money. I live in Florida and always liked thinking about walking to the other side of the country. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to try and hike the Eastern Continental and then the American Discovery, even if you could get all the permits.

Do people ever just hop on the trails and hike them without paying for anything? How illegal is that?

  • How do I use JDK on a flashdrive?

Hello, I'd like to start programming in Java but I have no idea how to actually run the program. I don't have one single computer to work at so I put everything on a flashdrive rather than in Program files (x86) so I could work at available computer. I've got some ebooks on the programming language, but none had any advice on this problem.

I have no idea how to start, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Advice on first bank account?

I've never had a bank account before and I was wondering what the best way to go about getting one is. The only reason I need one now is so that I can link it to a Paypal account to make it verifiable. I've heard that bank accounts will slowly drain away you money through one kind of fee or another. I don't have much income so I'd like to avoid that. Thanks

  • How do I unsubscribe from an email address?

Normally they'd have a link you can click to unsubscribe but I am receiving a few emails that I do not want, and they don't have an unsubscribe button. These websites aren't spam per se, it's just that I don't want them sending me emails anymore.

  • Can I join the National Guard?

I was permanently disqualified from the military for medical reasons and I was wondering if this included the National Guard. The reason for disqualification was that I have pectus excavatum.

Also, does this permanent disqualification include the reserves?

  • Electronics Engineering Jobs?

Hello, in two years I will have either an A.A.S. or an A.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology. There may be a change soon, so I will probably have the A.S. I was wondering what kind of jobs I can perform with that kind of degree. How do I go about looking for those jobs?

I'm only 18 and when I'm out of college I want to know what I should be doing so I can make a living. Thank you.

  • Bachelor's degree or certificate program?

If your were to go to college which do you think would do you more good career-wise? I've heard some people say you're better off with a certificate that makes you competitively qualified for whatever you chose to study, and some people say that you're better off with a four year degree. Any opinions? Thanks

  • Will the MEPS consult call me?

I went to MEPS the other day and the doctors said they needed to X-ray my chest to see the extent of my pectus excavatum. They want to reschedule and I just got back home. Will they call me or my recruiter with the rescheduled dates?

  • Are you allowed to bring weights to basic military training?

I'd imagine you wouldn't really need them, but are there any rules against it? Simple 15 pound barbells, nothing gigantic. I'm debating on whether or not to try for Air Force Pararescue and I'd like to maintain an edge on the other recruits.

  • What are some fun, free RTS games?

A lot of online games just involve spamming units. Do you know of any RTS games that require planning and a little more thought to make things interesting?

  • 17 years old, no family or friends?

My mother was an alcoholic and my father is a useless deadbeat. I don't even know where either of them are. I moved around a lot and now I live at a friend's house, living off his parents like a parasite or something. I can't pay them anything because I'm stuck in high school and can't get a job. I barely even know these people, and I just feel really guilty about the whole thing. I can't concentrate on anything, i feel pretty useless. Is there any advice?
