  • How do I find the switching voltages from a relay's data sheet?

I'm doing a school project and the course so far has taught us nothing but resistors really. Some project to be made. So I'm trying to figure something out myself.

I'm using a photocell to control a relay to control a motor (DPDT relay, so two-direction DC motor control based on light). My question is:

How do I know what relay to use? I have all other stats on things, but the relays are confusing me. Specifically I have the datasheet for JW2SN-DC12V and I don't really understand it; how do I find the switching voltage (point at which it changes from one position to the other)?

  • Motherboard Fried or PSU?

My computer won't turn on. The power LED will turn on, along with the fans, for up to maybe 15 seconds, and then it all shuts down. Nothing appears on the screen during this time. It then turns back on, on its own, and turns back off again in irregular intervals. This just keep repeating until I turn the power supply off. Pushing the power button turns it on when power is restored, but cannot turn it back off again completely; it turns itself back on.

I've disconnected everything (Harddrives, PCI cards, disk drives, even removed the ram) and it still happens the same way; no BIOS beeps or anything.

Only when I disconnect the 4-pin power connector powering the processor (the 4-pin beside the CPU) does the power stay on but the power button does nothing to turn it off (not even off to have it turn back on again, just says on regardless of the button) until I turn off the PSU.

Fried mobo or PSU? Or is there a less expensive option?

  • How do I know if my CPU is dead, or my Motherboard?

My computer recently failed. if I unplug my CPU power cable (the 4-pin, 12V connector beside the CPU) the power supply revs up, the lights come on, the CPU FAN spins, but of course since the CPU power is not plugged in, nothing significant happens. I've already eliminated the power supply as the culprit, so how do I determine whether or not the problem is the motherboard or the CPU itself?

  • Bands such as: Family Force 5, Hollywood Undead?

I used to be heavily into rap; mainly Eminem, he's my shizz. But.. I realized that rap is pretty much Pop now. So I went to rock, and a little to techno, and realized that I like it all! xD

I've found that those two bands seem to incorporate techno, rock, and rap-beats in a pretty awesome way.

What can you suggest that would be in the same mixed-genre as these?

My fav's obviously get best answer.

  • Music Like Nickelback, Billy Talent, Crossfade, etc.?

I don't want any replies about "how lame my music is" or any crap like that.

I've just gotten sick of the songs that I have: they lose their novelty once you can recite them off-hand, so I was wondering if anybody had some suggestions for me.

I'm up for any music EXCEPT COUNTRY and Rap.

Billy Talent is probably my favourite band, but I'm not that picky.

If anybody has suggestions of new music for me, please write them down.

I suppose whichever band I like best will get a "Best Answer". x]

Once again... no comments about how bad my choice in music, or the choices of anybody who answers, are to be said.

  • Kawasaki ATV Not Starting Properly/At All?

    I have a 1992 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4. It's old, I know, but I don't wanna hear answers like "Get a tune-up" or "Just buy a new bike".

Anyways, basically I know how the engine works. Gas, Air, Compression, blah blah blah. I know the basics, but something's still weird with the bike.

Some days, usually the warmer days, the bike will start and run with no difficulty. Other days, the bike will run for a while, and then suddenly stop and have the problem I am about to describe. Other times, it will simply not start.

The problem is that the engine isn't turning over. The starter turns perfectly (Replaced the starter), but the bike doesn't want to Fire on its own.

However, after you release the starter button, the bike will often give one last PROPER fire before stopping once again.

What the HELL could this be?

We've replaced the starter relay, drained/cleaned/re-fueld the fuel system, replaced the spark plug, replaced the spark plug wire, replaced the starter.

  • ATV not firing, spark and fuel are good, no "running"?

I own a Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4, 1992. I've been having the re-occuring problem of the bike running fine one day and doing nothing the next.

The starter turns over perfectly, the battery is fully charged, the gas will flood the carb/air intake if you choke it too much, the spark is good with a new plug and wire - everything seems like it should work, but it won't turn ignite. We've tried pull-starting and push-starting, but the spark just doesn't seem to be igniting the fuel. (We tested with the good ol' screwdriver to make sure there was a spark).

What in the world could be the problem? I've been told it could be a colonoid in the back, but before we go taking everything apart, I'd like to have another opinion on what it could be.
