5 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education1 decade agowet reckless california legal question?
please, no lame answers
I am currently being charged with a dui in the state of california. I was stopped illegally according to the precedent established by ingersoll vs palmer. However, the police officers who stopped me have committed to lying in their testimonies in order for me to receive the conviction. (I made a turn to avoid a checkpoint and was out of their line of site for about a minute to a minute and a half, the next time they saw me i was 30-40 feet away from my car walking. they are saying i made the turn at an unsafe speed and screeched my tires, which i know to be false.) It is a their word against mine situation since I do not have any witnesses to corroborate my testimony. The judge would likely not find in my favor.
I have been offered a wet reckless charge as a plea bargain. My question is that if i were to accept the wet reckless, would my insurance premiums go up? i've read that for some insurance companies, they do no regard wet reckless charges like dui's and therefore do not raise premiums as much. Also, what is the likelihood of my case being reduced to a dry reckless?
should i take the wet reckless, or should i try to get the lying bastards in court?

1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agowhy do courts in california require a lawyer in order to subpoena one's police report?
It seems as though this would violate one of the fundamental rights granted by the constitution and its amendments. they say that one can obtain a police report on the court date or one would have to subpoena it through a lawyer. They also said to let them have at least 15 days to get the police report to the lawyer. Is one not entitled to properly prepare themselves for court?
6 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agodoes anyone have a psychological or chemical explanation for the "friend zone" that women place men in?
It seems like the more time you spend with them without any romantic contact, the further away they seem to act. Also, why is it that young women often place men into this category while men do not usually do the same for women?

6 AnswersMovies1 decade agodo you have a chance of fighting a particular dui in california?
the person was driving and then saw a dui checkpoint coming up. he then turned onto a street about 2-300 feet away from the checkpoint and made another right turn immediately. the line of sight was clearly broken between him and any officers and so he exited his car and started to walk away. when he got about 15-20 feet away from his car an officer turned the corner on a motorcycle and approached him. he admitted to having a few drinks but does not think that he admitted to driving under the influence, if he did admit to driving it was under duress from the officers (3). he then was submitted to alcohol tests and arrested for a dui. Does this person have a chance in court arguing that he was not driving the car? or maybe that someone in the same type of car drove away and this person was just in the wrong place at the wrong time? also if the officers demeanor was at all inappropriate does it matter in court? thank you for your time
