Overly enthusiastic guys drive me nuts?
Several times now I've met men I felt an initial attraction to only to have them become overly-enthusiastic, eager beavers who drive me away with their attentiveness that becomes stifling. I often get very busy with work or travel and tell them I'm not looking for a steady boyfriend. They seem to develop a hearing problem and then they're at my door every day, calling me constantly, one even got offended when I didn't cancel a trip i had paid for and now assumes he's going with me everywhere. This is often over a matter of weeks, not months or years. I feel trapped when this happens and vow never to get involved again. Please guys. . . slow down and stop prostrating yourselves.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoIn our late 30s we 3 single gals are finding that all of the men we're encountering or who are attracted to us?
are married and in "open relationships," or naive guys with weird beliefs or habits (cig butts all over house, want marriage after 2 wks, have never dated anyone at age 40, won't communicate except in the sack, etc etc).
We're demoralized. LIfe in a small city located between the toes of the nation and its narrow gene pool is sucking the life out of us and we're about to collectively give up.
Are all of the good guys taken at this point?
Is it worth it having an intelligent dinner with a married guy just to have some decent conversation and feel like an attractive smart woman for 2 hrs?
One asks, can she date Prozac?
3 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoDid you realize that in most states, you can vote straight ticket and also vote another party candidate ?
in other races . . .
In New Mexico, we have a race between a Democrat who is truly the worst candidate ever ("Blockgate") and a Green who is a great candidate and endorsed by many Dems and Reps. The problem is that many straight Dem voters don't know they CAN go down and cast a vote for a candidate not in their party in other races even if they've indicated straight party.
Be picky. Vote for the better candidate, not your "football" team.
7 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhat happened to the issues? What happened to the environment and climate change?
The current economic situation will be small change compared to what may come in the manner of shifting food growth regions and energy usage yet we've got the maverick and his tonto focusing on silliness and subterfuge.
I hear little on the subject from the opposition either.
20 AnswersElections1 decade agoHey anti-choice people! Why don't you spend as much time yelling at the sperm donor?
It really irks me that protestors feel free to yell at girls and women at Planned Parenthood and other women's clinics, yet they spend no effort to try to foist their damnation on the boys/men who are causing pregnancies too!
It takes two to tango - a nationwide effort to condemn the male half and get them to take their share of the responsibility in the abortion equation is long overdue
I guess it's just a bit more difficult to find those targets of your protests but you seem to have plenty of money for tv ads.

12 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhat if all of the independent and third party voters voted for their given candidates?
Ron Paul held a press confernce with four other third party candidates in a show of third party unity and urged voters to reject the duopoly that we've been suffering under. What are your thoughts?
What would happen if we all voted for or wrote in our OTHER candidates??
Would the Dems and Reps finally let us participate in the electoral system of this nation?

4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIf Obama were a 3rd party candidate, would it be right to keep him off the ballot?
The Democratic party, under Terry McAuliffe, is accused of using dirty tricks & frivolous lawsuits to keep Nader off the ballot in 18 states in 2004. The project of the DNC, called "the Ballot Project" & "America Coming Together" used
* 95 lawyers from 53 law firms to participate in the anti-Nader litigation strategy of the DNC
The efforts to keep Nader's name off the ballot included, according to the lawsuit, a petition blocking component, plus "an organized effort of harassment of petitioners who went around trying to collect signatures for the Nader campaign in OH, in OR & in PA saying they would be felons. In OR, a convention was stuffed with Dems called up to crowd the room to capacity & then refuse to sign Nader's petition.
Imagine if this were done to Obama. Would we see a huge outcry?
Would this be seen as racial or anti-Third Party more? Is this type of behavior fair in a democracy?
If done to Clinton would it be sexist?
If done by Repubs to Dems? Fairplay?
8 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs Libertarian Bob Barr as scientifically illiterate as he comes across?
Global Warming doesn't exist, nuclear power is our savior, let's drill the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge!
I don't care if JD's fight over petty lawsuits & divorces and make statements about things of that nature, but for a man to talk over the serious findings of the vast, vast majority of eminent scientific minds, people who study the big picture earthwise, is absolutely wacky imho.

7 AnswersElections1 decade agowhy do men go for drama queens and gold-diggers?
I once fell for a guy who was wonderful, a little materialistic, but otherwise smart, funny, creative, alive! Call it limerence, call it infatuation, but I have never been able to forget him.
10+ years later the life has been literally sucked out of him.
I met him again and he is a shell of man. In their marriage, she used him for $, for drugs, for clothes, cars and surgery, cheated for years, ensnared him in a codependent charade.
I was dumped for this? and why?
Do men actually enjoy drama, seek out drama queens even while they decry them?
She's happy as a clam, rich and set for life.
Does the secret to personal happiness & getting the guy lie in being a dramatic B*%#h?
