Many years in retail and customer service, my ultimate career was as an insurance broker, registrations agent, and driver licence issuer. I am a people person, bowl in 2 leagues, and have contributed to and participated in community club affairs as both an executive member and volunteer over the years.

  • What's with all the stupid questions in Cars and Transportation?

Relationships, first kiss, dates, the section is flooded with garbage that is so far from the category it renders it almost useless!

  • Who has seen anything funnier than this?

    In Yahoo Answers.

Just voted on a question. Here are the results so far.

    Answer #1 33% 1 Vote

    Answer #2 33% 1 Vote

    Answer #3

    Answer #4 67% 2 votes

    Answer #5 33% 1 Vote

    Answer #6 33% 1 Vote

Now that is 6 votes, and we are up to 200%. Got to love this modern math!

Now, is anything in Yahoo Answers funnier than that?

  • Why is a stupid answer to a stupider question a violation?

If someone asks a question that makes absolutely no sense in a particular category, and you make a dumb answer, that doesn't relate to the question, but does relate to the category, why should your answer be a violation if the stupid question in the wrong category is allowed to stand? The dumb answer only points out irrationality of the question, but I suspect the concept is beyond the comprehension of some people. Comments? Has anybody else experienced this?

  • Do you know the abuse team and the answers teams don't work together?

If you get an e-mail from another Answers user, and it is abusive, stupid, otherwise unwanted, you can use abuse@yahoo, just like any other e-mail. If you don't send headers, they request them. This is dumb, because the e-mail is forwarded through yahoo, and the headers reflect that. So you send the headers, and they send you information on how to block the user. Whooped-ding, if the user changes identity, he just e-mails you again. When you complain, they ask for headers again, and tell you how to block the user, but they do nothing else, and they don't seem to understand it is not enough! My question is, has anybody else experienced the same runaround, and, if so, what were you able to do about it?

  • Offensive Contact E-Mail Complaint?

If another user sends you an e-mail, it is anonymous. If you reply to that e-mail, there is a link, and it is anonymous. That e-mail sent to you could be insulting, or offensive. I have received one insulting e-mail. I like to leave my contact link open, I believe it shows my honesty. Has anybody figured out how and to whom one would complain about such an offensive contact?
