  • Factor V Leiden and Torn Gastrocnemius muscle in the calf?

I have the Factor V Leiden Mutation and just over 2 weeks ago I tore my Gastroc calf muscle playing tennis. My calf is still slightly swollen but the bruising is now fading. I have really bad pain in my calf in the mornings and it feels very tight but with a numb feeling. It lasts about 15 mins and then subsides. I've been taking ibuprofen a couple of times a day but a faint throbbing pain still exists. I've been to a musculoskeletal clinic and they told me I've torn my gastroc calf muscle. I'm a bit concerned about my factor v Leiden condition. Should I be worried and seek further treatment than just doing requested exercises?

  • Homeopathic Remedy for worry?

Does anyone know a homeopathic remedy for worry. I worry about anything going wrong, whether it's in my relationship with my boyfriend or going for an interview. I don't like to upset people and worry constantly if I think I have. I've been told about Arsenicum (ARS 30) but I'm not sure that's the right remedy. Please help!

  • can an operation be refused with private health insurance?

I'm considering using my Bupa Private Health Insurance to sort out a reoccurring problem with tonsillitis. I've decided that I would rather have them removed altogether and be done with it forever as I've had them 5 times since nov last year. Can the consultant refuse to take them out or do they have to accept my wishes?

  • what should i eat if i'm constantly vomiting but hungry?

I've been sick for 5 days. It started with flu symptoms and tonsilitis. Then I started feeling sick and yesterday I spent the whole day vomiting. I feel hungry but don't know whether I should eat because my stomach still feels weak and I've had enough of vomiting. Is there anything I can eat which I know won''t upset my stomach and cause me to bring it back up in an hour or so?

  • A cure for cystitis other than powder sachets?

I've had cystitis on and off for a week now and it's my first ever experience. I had a course of 3 day antibiotics and it cleared it up for the weekend but now it has returned. I decided to buy Cystopurin powder sachets x 6. I've taken 3 of them as directed and late this afternoon, I vomited it all back up. I think my stomach may be too sensitive for it. Does anyone else know of anything other than this powder?

  • Why does my urine smell awful?

Over the last 3 days, I've noticed that my urine smells really awful. I do not have pain when urinating and I don't feel the need to urinate frequently either so I've ruled out a urinary tract infection. I drink loads of water daily. I had sexual intercourse last week with my boyfriend and it seems to have started soon after this. We didn't do anything different so I don't think it's got anything to do with this either. Anybody have any ideas?
