If I place a lit candle in a box that is too dense for light to pass through .Then seal the box with 1 minute of oxygen why does it go dark when the light is extinguished.If the photons are trapped where do they go .?

I have a desktop pc that my kids use for there homework ,facebook and twitter .However I cannot get a net connection .I get the msg "cannot find proxy settings".Now we had problems with viruses that someone cleared for us but I can no longer connect or use the printer .I am no expert but im guessing the drivers have been lost ..Any ideas of what info i will need to find a driver i need and can i download it on to a mem stick and upload it back onto the desktop

Can anyone solve this equation and more importantly go through each step ,so I can undersand this and the other equations I have to do.

What does the 4.6 represent,why is it *by 10^26.then /by 1*10^9 etc etc etc ?

I get people are proud of their history etc. but why are people so subjective when it comes to this subject. I will give 3 examples of what I mean.

I was recently discussing the Battle of Britain on a forum and was told that the RAF got through because of the foreign pilots .I pointed out that 90%of those that fought over the skies in 1940 against the Luftwaffe were British and while one should not discount the contribution of all those that fought it is unlikely that if only the 10% of non-Britons had flown they could have defeated the Luftwaffe. I was then informed that the RAF never won the Germans just changed their mind. Again I pointed out that there mind was changed by the RAF and that Gorings intention was to clear the skies of the RAF was a fail.

In a separate diiscussion I was told that the Norman invasion 1066 was a French invasion .Again I pointed out Normandy was an autonomous vassal to France so the invasion is called a Norman invasion because that is precisly what it was .and if France had not conceded the land in the 1st place there would have been no Normandy. This was completely denied .Why???

3rd on this site a question on the Roman invasion of England. I pointed out that Eng at the time did not exist and the reason they never invaded the far North in what is Now Scotland is because there was of little value to the Romans there and previous incursions had ended in expensive loss of men it simply was not worth their while in percerveriving in an area where they would get so little back .Again I was told that it was because they were up against superior fighters and suggested that I did not know what I was talking about.

I do not claim to be absolutely right and am happy to discuss and expand on differing opinions I was always told start with the absolutes and then piece the rest together to form your opinion.Yet I got a suggestion that I was blinkered and needed to learn a lot more before discussing again I think what they meant was "agree with my version of events or you will be considered an idiot.

Hi I recently heard a story that a farmer found 20 Spitfires still crated in an old airbase in Burma .The Spits were to be returned to the UK, assembled and tested for air worthiness.Does anyone know if this is true and if it is are there any sites on the web that I can get further details from ,as in where they are located ,who is rebuilding them and when they are likely to take to the air .

In Britain today ,we are supposedly allowed free speech,which must come from free thinking,but in light of 2 football players John Terry and Luis Suarez making remarks to an individual in an argument and one politician Dianne Abbot voicing an opinion and subsequently 2 being charged, ,one by the football authorities and the other by the law ,one facing calls to resign .Is it now illegal to say and think what you feel if that is what you as a free thinking individual believe.

Also would you regard Suarez "offence" more serious than someone being stamped in the head ,Suarez banned for 8 games for making a derogatory remark ,Balotelli banned for 4 games for stamping on a fellow player (Parker,while the man was on the ground)?

Incidental Diane Abbot is a black London based politician claims that it is harder for black ppl to hail a cab than non black ppl in London.If she believes this to be the case ,why should voicing that opinion lead for calls for her to step down.

This question is not about what you think of these 3 ,more about the way they have been treated and how this reflects Britain today

As a Spurs fan I am totally against the idea of Spurs move to Newham,I was listening to an interview that Spurs chairman D Levy gave to the BBC saying that as most fans have to travel a distance to the ground.i.e Beyond walking distance most fans would welcome the move because of accessibility.I have not met a single supporter (and I know plenty) that want this move I'm not interested in the legacy that 2012 will leave or wether if the Hammers get the ground they will keep athletics there or not .I really hope they get the Ground ,but my question is, is there any Spurs fans that want this move?Is there anyone that thinks car parking etc is so important that it outweighs the need to stay in our spiritual home,and if you agree that it's a good move ,how long have you been a Spurs fan and why would you want this move

I watched one of those scientific docs a couple of nights ago and still trying to get my head around this ,so can anyone set me straight.

An object weighing 10 grams requires about 20 joules to throw it 1 metre in I second .

However to work out the amount of energy in said object you use Einsteins equation E=Mc2 ..So this would mean 10 multiplied by 300000 squared ,this would be the amount of energy in joules stored withing the object.

Did I hear that correctly because if I did that is incredible

Can anyone help ,my PC using Vista cannot detect bluetooth devices when my PC fails to find the device I am trying to pair it with ,it gives me the following procedure to go through

1)click start

2)click control panel

3)click hardware and sound

4)click bluetooth devices

5)click add wireless devices and then select the device you want to install and click next

Basically everything goes well until I reach step 5 and the 'next' box is greyed out and cannot be selected,

The odd thing is that is has worked on this PC before and nothing has changed,there is no program to remove ,so I am at a loss as to how to go about fixing the problem.

There is no bluetooth devices built into the PC ,all I done in the past was stick the bluetooth toggle into the USB port and the computer asked me to accept the new hardware and away I went .

Ok i'll point out now I have no understanding of high finance or big business but i was just wandering what the logic here is.

Woolworths in the UK is £400 million or so in debt and from what I understand unless they can find a buyer the company will go under

Surely the best way for the lenders (presumably banks) to get a return on there loans is to get together with the Woolworths board of directors and restructure the business's so that they can start to turn a profit and service there debts ,because surly if they close down then the lenders will have to write off the debt ,

Am I missing something here ?

Is it only me or has anyone else noticed that those advertising things like yogurt and fruit juice say things like eating/drinking our product daily will go towards one of your 5 a day .

Who says we have to eat 5 portions of fruit a day ? Do they (who ever they are) assume everyone has the same build and metabolism

And what consitutes one of there portions ? One Strawberry or do I need 5 or 10.The people that have decided this ,how do I contact them to ask.

But what really p****s me off is that people just accept it without questioning it .

Why are people so ready to do what they are told without questioning where these reccomendations come from ,how or why these conclusions have been arrived at or what the benefits are etc
