Canned Bug fogger question.?
Is there any benefit whatsoever to fogging two or even three days in a row when the first time didn't actually kill that many bugs?
1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)6 years agoWill Youtube remove my video's audio (context specific!)?
Okay, so I'm uploading a video to YouTube where Technologic by Daft Punk is playing in the background fairly loudly 4 seconds into the start when you see me (in the video) pressing play). I did this on for stylistic purposes of the video I was making (and while it was a beginner attempt, I would be pretty annoyed if I had to dispute this. There's a portion of my video where the music will cut off because I forgot to include a few things and the music is playing again but maybe a minute (?) later into the song or so. Will YouTube remove my video's audio, or will it not be disputed at the time of upload, or is this fair use, since the material involved is essential to the video retaining its relevance to my timing? If Youtube does block the audio, how can I dispute it with them and not their machines?
3 AnswersYouTube1 decade agoDoes the GH World Tour guitar's slide work with previous games?
I just bought a WT guitar peripheral for 360. Will the slider (the colored button portion you can move your fingers on) work with 2, RT80's, 3, and Aerosmith for 360? FYI, as I said in the text, the controller is for 360. Also, can I use my Lips mic for vocals in GHWT?
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade agoUPS w/ surge and batter backup tripped, how long should I wait?
I just bought an APC 1500 VA (865 watt) UPS that has surge protection and battery backup. I just got my computer back from Geek squad but when I tried reinstalling my Seagate Barricuda 1 TB (silly me, I have to install the software first), I stupidly thought something was wrong and messed with some things I shouldn't have. I got it back into the way it was, but the surge obviously tripped.
Seeing as this has permanent (for the life of the UPS) battery, and it reads fine, it should be noted that it should recover easily after a surge. I just want to know how long I should wait. I shut it off completely and unplugged all cables from it, should I unplug the UPS as well?
Also, how long should I wait before attempting to start the computer again? Doesn't the UPS need to be plugged in to recover?
Note: Before you go scolding me on surging the UPS, you should note that I have 16 years of computer experience, and I know a lot about what does what, and how to get things done.

Is there a GNU-licensed piece of software like freeraser, except that instead of specializing in overwriting to the point of non-recovery the data of a specific file, it overwrites to the point of non-recovery the entire free space of the hard drive, or a specific portion of the hard drive to avoid potential conflicts with constant reading and writing of data?
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoForum for rights advocacy?
I mean like common-sense stuff that should be unmutable law, like the double-standards seen in the food industry. They are obligated by law (so far as we've been told) to list EVERY ingredient in the food we eat, but I've seen more than a few cases looking in my supermarket where the ingredients list often had at least one if not more generalization(s) of what was in them. Example: A simple look through my shelves and refrigerator reveals two sketchy ingredients on Miracle Whip; the first being modified cornstarch. With what was it modified? We don't know, because it doesn't say; on the very same label, later down the ingredients list, it says, "Enzyme Modified Egg Yolk", why the special treatment on that one? On the other hand, Campbell's Spaghettio's w/ Sliced Franks lists the same ingredient, and goes into depth on EACH of the ingredients that were mixed, while "Natural Flavor", which would clearly be an ingredient which should be elaborated on, on the Miracle Whip label, has no details whatsoever as to what edible dyes, flavor enhancers, were used. For some reason they don't list this, the most obvious being the preservation of their recipe (though still, they should be by law obligated to list literally EVERYTHING, with "doesn't matter, law is law," stated to the fact that their recipe might become known. (though people STILL wouldn't know the exact proportions of each, just the ingredients involved)) I have plenty of others, but I thought it'd be more pertinent if I could get something directly off my shelves to make an example of.
Where would I find a site where I could have such a discussion as the example I just made? If there's an index of such actively maintained sites on these, (concerning sensible law that complies with the constitution, and nothing that doesn't) I'd appreciate that as well. I may end up putting this in a different section because I know how the law section has reportedly gotten, and how they would bash such a question to no end.

1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoHow to cure tongue burns faster?
I have a tissue burn at what is essentially the very front of my tongue. I also, however have Tourette's Syndrome, which is basically causing me to lick the wound constantly even though my body knows it hurts like crazy. Because it is on the tip of my tongue it makes it pretty much impossible to eat without pretty bad pain from the burn, which I quickly discovered as I tried to eat a hamburger, which was by that time cold when I mustered the attempt, hurt like crazy. Is there anything I can get to prevent my tongue from being licked to the roof, and where can I get that device until the wound heals? Also, how do I make a tongue burn heal faster, if there's anything I can do?
2 AnswersFirst Aid1 decade agoIs there a site that lists MSRP's?
Not cars. I want everything BUT cars, in fact. I want a site devoted to listing Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices on everything for Video Games to DVD's to toasters. Anything and everything. Is there such a site? If not, it's practically an injustice to buyers that there isn't, because MSRP is the heaviest factor in what a US retailer decides to sell something for.
2 AnswersBuying & Selling1 decade agoHow big would the file size of the purest product of a 640 x 480 image be uncompressed?
I'm not talking file sizes. I am having extreme difficulty finding this information with Google. However, I use GimpShop and its "weirdified" counterpart Gimp quite frequently, and I've had even a 1024 x 683 picture take up over 700 megabytes before in it. Is Gimp showing me pretty much the purest product's size if it were completely uncompressed as-is? How would I do that calculations to find out how much even one pixel would take up uncompressed and in purest processing format? Is it possible to have a "purest" format at all? There must be some purest product from which the compression formats such as JPEG and TIFF are made, right? What is it, and how is size determined in it?
1 AnswerOther - Computers1 decade agoDoes the Intel X58 chipset have a hardware RAID controller?
According to the specs Intel gives my model supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 1 + 0 (also known as 10), but it doesn't mention whether it has HARDWARE support for raid, or if I have to emulate it via my operating system. I looked through my device manager but to no avail; it is not listed in device manager (shouldn't it be under system devices?). I just bought a second HD (actually larger than my first, though it'll only detect however many GB I leave for my C drive initially once I put it in the RAID mode of my choice since it goes by the smallest drive and one is 700 GB (688 allocated to C drive) and the other is 1 TB), which I failed to connect through the add-on drive bays (the screw locations were, well, screwy), a Seagate Barracuda 1 TB SATA. I plan to leave 8 GB on each drive free for striping as I will be putting them into RAID 0 config. Is this too much, too little, or right in the middle?
1 AnswerOther - Hardware1 decade agoIs there an application that can tell me how many watts my PSU is using?
If not, how do I tell? I live in an apartment building so I don't have direct access to my meter, and I'd prefer not to buy additional equipment to be able to tell. The reason I'm asking is because I got a brand new Seagate Barricuda 1 TB hard drive (but apparently it's rather difficult to put into the expansion bay so I'm going for the preferable option of RAID 0, even though my normal hard drive claims to be 750 GB but is actually 700 GB (688 GB on the C:, 10 GB is reserved for Gateway's backup utility according to their documents, and the rest is probably about 2 GB devoted to the hidden registry drive you no longer can quantify the size of on most computer models). I am using a stock Gateway FX 6800 01e with plans to add in the Barricuda hard drive in RAID 0 with the stock hard drive, I've calculated my PSU is using ~453 watts currently (I have not RAID 0'd the other hard drive with it yet, otherwise I'd either be able to ask or my PSU would be fried) by the guidelines of another post on Yahoo! Answers, posted shortly after the time I bought my computer, so current. I am running an otherwise stock Gateway FX6800 01e (bought in Feb of 2009) with nothing else installed. I would really appreciate knowing the watt usage of my specific computer model, and possibly a site that specializes in finding the wattage on specific components. I plan on upgrading this over the course of 5-10 years, so I really need this information, and one of the first things I'll get is a 1200 watt PSU so I hopefully don't need to worry about this for a while. The computer supports up to 3 RAID 0, 1, 5, or 10 configged drives, and two expansion bays, of which I am not planning on using if possible, since it has them but at what I've calculated cannot use them in unison with 3 drives (I plan on 1 or 2 TB if possible, and replacing my standard drive if I can without losing Gateway's backup software). I would appreciate it if someone could get me pointed in the right direction with this, as I have never RAID configged a hard drive set before, and I'm not 100% sure of my current power usage in watts.
5 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoCan I finish the Dragon Slayer quest in Runescape at combat level 62?
47 attack, 51 strength, 49 defense, and 50 constitution (health x 10 if you haven't played in a while), 52 magic, 28 ranged (not planning on using it). Currently using Rune everything except platebody (obviously why I'm seeking the quest, and because of the Heroes Guild as well), and have a plethora of chaos, death, law, air, etc. runes and all four elemental battlestaves, As soon as I find the map pieces and do the rest of the quest what I really need to know is if I can defeat Elvarg. (and yes, I am a member) Is he too high for me right now or will he be basically pretty much just 2 1/2 times the HP of a white knight and nothing really special? RuneHQ monster db says he's 83, that's why I'm worried.
6 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhat kind of solid state hard drive would I need to record at 60 FPS with FRAPS?
I'm seriously considering buying a Solid State Hard Drive (SSHD) because I intend to do a lot of video editing with FRAPS. I tried doing some FRAPSing with Fate today, and it lagged like a mofo. So I ran the resource monitor filtering FRAPS as the criteria, and found out that the reason FRAPS lags so much is because my 7200 RPM Hitachi SATA drive that's 750 GB can't keep up (It shoots up to 100% frequently and is bottlenecked because of it). I'm also considering a DX9/10/10.1 alternative recorder, but I'm afraid it wouldn't be as high quality. Is there anything out there that has excellent compression ratio but offers the quality of FRAPS without killing my hard drive? I have an Intel Core I7 920, which is 10.44 GHz over 8 threads and 4 processors. I'm running Windows 7.
But back to the question at hand. I really WOULD like to purchase a large solid state hard drive, simply because I transfer and need access to files so often. It would be much apprectiated if someone could tell me what level of SSHD flash would be suitable for insertion on a standardized drive bay. Also, would it be bottlenecked, and should I rather consider an SATA setup instead? Do I need special equipment to use an SSHD? Also, are there any ESATA SSHD's over 500 GB?

1 AnswerPrinters1 decade agoHow to get Vista Firewire legacy drivers?
I have an ASUS M70vm and I am trying to connect it to a Windows 7-based desktop through firewire so I can transfer larger files faster. I have search rather extensively but have no idea where to get the legacy drivers, since Vista does not directly support Ad-hoc firewire connections. I would appreciate any downloads anyone could give me for such a legacy driver for windows, without having to pay money. By the way, it is only the Vista laptop that doesn't show the legacy driver option. It shows up on my 7 machine. Mind you, does it make a difference that I had to use a mini-dv converter, and will that affect file transfer? I've heard of this being done before, so don't tell me it's impossible. All I need are the Windows Vista legacy firewire drivers that are missing and I should be able to transfer fine, since both read as IEEE1333-compliant firewire ports.
2 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoHow many web browsers have fully disabled clickonce?
For those of you who don't know, ClickOnce is software that can potentially run malicious software on your computer without your permission. In other words, IT IS VERY BAD. To my knowledge, Firefox is the only one that has FULLY disabled the clickonce support included with the .net Framework assistant. But have any other browsers done so? I can find no statements of any kind other than for Firefox on the internet. I know that the assistant extends to all popular browsers, so why have these companies not made a move if they haven't?

1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoExponential multiplication of exponents calculator?
Yes, I know that's a weird title for a question, but I don't really know what else to call it. Is there a calculator that you can type in a number and it will multiply exponents by exponents that many times without having to type it all out? For example: for 2^2^2 you would simply type in the base number of 2, and tell it that you wanted two sets of exponents mulitplied as the exponent of 2. Is there such a calculator either online or as an executable file? I just want to have a little fun with math and use something like that. I've done a google search but it's rather hard to tell Google what I'm after, and simply searching "exponential multiplier" doesn't really get me anything but the simple ones that calculate an exponent by one exponent only, which any calculator with that button can do easily anyway. Please don't question my motives, I just want it for fun. Also, my TI-84 is on loan to my mother as she has a math class she needs it for, otherwise instead of asking I would be writing a simple program on it to do this (which definitely wouldn't be that hard with the aid of loops). Unfortunately, I don't know that much about coding in Visual Basic where this kind of programming would be right at home, otherwise I wouldn't be asking in that case, either. If there's nothing of this sort available online, would someone with expertise in visual basic make me a program that could do this? I mean, for an experienced coder it'd probably take about 10 minutes of your time, at most a half an hour.
