Um.. I live in Mexico City that figure ice skates and watches anime in my free time. I'm a university student. Lately been reading Rave Master which is a pretty underrated manga, I'd reccomend it. :) Even if you're not into anime you should try out Twelve Kingdoms, it's an awesome fantasy series with a great OST. My avatar is Shion no Aries from my favorite OVA ever: Saint Seiya Hades Sanctuary. Hrm.. Animax LA is gonna premiere Black Jack??! Sweet! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0-wxowiq8w&eurl=

  • Mexio City's most dangerous places?

I've lived in mexico City for about 5 years so I decently know all the stuff about mugging and pickpockets and such. I'm specifically curious to know what people who also know the city consider to be dangerous neighborhoods.

I know that Tepito at night is a no/no (but okay during the day) and it's best not to get into Iztapalapa period and I've also heard Ciudad Neza is dangerous (but I've never been to that place before).

However, people lately been telling me la Colonia Doctores is the most dangerous place in the city. I go there almost everyday even at night for the past 2 years and I've always been fine despite walking completely alone on dark sidewalks at oddball hours, but I know some people who knows a person whose car got hijacked. The fact that they stepped up the security of the General Hospital because 3 people were shot when burglars tried to rob the bank a month ago makes me wonder if it's more dangerous.

Personal imput from others would be nice to hear. ;)

  • Why is Zoids so underrated?

I'll admit it, I like political anime (maybe I found Gasaraki to be a tad bit too much, but the story was still pretty interesting). Twelve Kingdoms is one of my favorite anime and I'm sure that if I ever get to watch Zipang, I'll love it instantly.

FYI, I'm referring to the Chaotic Century/Guardian Force seasons of Zoids. Sadly, Zoids Fuzors got rid of the political content of the original series and made it a generic kiddy friendly action series. Haven't seen the other two Zoids series yet (Zero and Genesis).

I think the problem with Zoids is that they marketed the show to the wrong audience. The Zoids figurine toys are pretty popular and Hasbro thought it as a good idea to market the anime to kids to sell toys. Big mistake, the anime has little action and the endless conversation scenes drove kids asleep.

Among adult fans like myself, I can't get enough of it. Sadly the US dub is censored and there is no dvd release of the uncut spanish dub. If you have a chance, try this anime.

  • Is Julia from Blood+ Jewish?

The series states that Julia's full name is Julia Silverstein which sounds pretty much like a jewish surname to me, but otherwise the anime gives no hints about her ethnic origins (or even her citizenship). Any clues?

  • Final Fantasy/Castlevania music?

I've never played these two videogames before but I've heard that both have great OSTs. Is this true? In your opinion, which are some of the best songs?

  • How to buy Silipo gel discs online?

I really need to buy this item:

    http://www.rainbosports.com/shop/site/product.cfm?...

Which is a Silipo silicone gel disc because my boot causes nerve irritation on my right foot (imagine landing an Axel without feeling your foot followed by a jolt of electricity on it and you get what I feel skating).

I have one which I use in my left boot, but it's getting old and it's chipping, so I need to buy more anyways. However, they don't sell them in mexico so I'm forced to buy them online.

However, the site above (stoopidly) doesn't let you put a Mexican address. I've gone to the official site of Silipo and it's the same problem all over again.

I have a working account for Ebay and Amazon (god only knows why those two sites have no issues), so if anyone can show me if either site has it, I'd be thankful. And if there's another online store that actually accepts a mexican address, that can work too. Thank! ;)

  • Will COP ever remove the spirals in Senior Ladies LPs?

I mostly enjoy COP because it rates with a number with fairly close accuracy the real difficulty of different figures. The added point bonuses makes programs more dynamic and gives prizes to the skaters who are the best in footwork and transitions (bye bye boring crossover between each jump!).

Overall, COP has made most of the categories better. However I cringe everytime a lady does her reglamentary 3 Spirals borefest.

One thing is that all skaters do them because you're not huffing and puffing, but another is that the ISU FORCES all skaters to do them. They are boring, most seniors suck doing them, it's boring to watch 20 girls do the exact same thing, and there's far more interesting figures to use instead.

Why can't Eagles and Bauers become alternate options other than poorly executed spirals? Ladies is the most boring of the 4 events, partially because of this rule.

  • Was your Internship year in Medicine a good experience?

I'm currently a 4th year med student and have high chances of starting my internship year around July 2008. I haven't chosen the city I'll do it in, but I'm currently between 1 private hospital in Mexico City very close to where I live and two public hospitals in Toluca.

I'm mainly curious about what other people's experiences have been regarding their internship year. They say that the internship can be the best days of your life or the worst and can mean quitting the career before finishing it to pursue something completely different.

Several pals have started or are halfway through it but they are so busy I rarely see them. I'd rather hear it from people that have finished it.

Note that in Mexico I'll still have to do a 6th year in Social Service but internships here shouldn't be that different from the US.
