  • Can you get a business loan for £200 000?

I want to look in to buying a business but don't really know where to start, the company I am looking at is the business that I currently work for. It is just one depot of the company and in this particular industry is quiet common for companies to buy and sell various branches, they make a bit of money and then sell them on for a profit. I currently run the depot as well as develop the existing business and find new customers. It has been offered to me for £150k but I would want to make some updates and also have a bit of cash flow in the first few months. It is a profitable business but as it is not the company's main branch the directors don't really take too much of an interest in it, I am sure that with a few minor changes and the right person being in complete control this company could thrive.

How can I raise that sort of cash?

  • Renting a house, Letting agent being crap?

My wife and I went to view a house this morning and would like to proceed with renting it. We found out that they have another viewing this afternoon. Knowing this we called up to pay our referencing fees to secure the property.

The letting agent wont take my money as they want the other person to view the house. Is that legal? We met the land lord this morning and told him we would like to rent the property and he did not mention any concerns, taking the tenancy of the property was discussed in front of the agent.

Can they let the next viewers take the property if they want it even though we have tried to pay our referencing fee's?

We have just booked our honeymoon to Sri Lanka, we fly out on May 5th 09. I have just found out that May is the start of the wet season (GUTTED!). Does anybody know how much it rains in the "wet season"? Will it just be a few downpours while we are out there or will it be almost constant rain?
