Why have new Cirrus aircraft prices gone up so dramatically in the last 3 years?

The SR22/SR22T increased in base price over $100,000 since 2017. The current SR22T starts at $746,900! Both the 2017 and 2020 are G6 models. I don't understand this price increase? Did they add $107,000 in optional equipment as standard? If there is anybody in the Cirrus community who understands this, an explanation would be much appreciated!

My 2001 BMW 525i with 47,800 miles on it went into aamco yesterday to get its first automatic transmission fluid change (dealer won't do it) and now it shifts gears slower, has trouble shifting at high rpm and whines at high rpm. What could be the problem? Is my transmission being damaged?

What is that module on the roof of my BMW 525i (E39)?

As far as I can tell, it doesn't appear to have any function. Does anyone know what it is?

What is the X in the film counter window on my old Voigtlander Bessa 66 camera?

I haven't seen this on any videos of this camera, but I tried loading some film in it for the first time, and the x stays. If anyone has any knowledge on these things I would greatly appreciate it!

  • How are old fighter jets still able to fly in the US? Are there exceptions to the STAGE II ban?

Since most of these aircraft cannot be practically made STAGE III compliant, how are they able to stay with collectors/enthusiast groups and continue to fly at shows? Even <75,000lb MTOW aircraft such as GII/III and JETSTAR had to be made compliant.

  • Why is gold always priced higher than market value.?

A troy OZ of gold is about $1290 but you will not find it for less than ~$1350.

Why is this, and how is this a sound investment if your forced to pay at least a $60 premium over market value just to get in the game?

  • I just bought a 2001 BMW 525i, how do I get the heater to work?

Even when I turn it all the way hot, hot air does not come out. Is there a button that needs to be pressed? The A/C blows ice cold, and the car only has 27300 miles on it. Could there be something wrong with the heater?

  • Why do MontBlanc and Tissot watches look very similar?

I know Montblanc recently got into watches, did they purchase some intellectual property from Tissot? Are they subsidiaries of the same company? I just bough the $1900 (on sale for $1189) MontBlanc tradition and noticed that it looks very similar to a $500 Tissot Le Locle. Are these watches similar? Did I make a good buy?

    Thanks for any help!

  • Why is Rolex so famous?

Is there a specific reason why Rolex is a household name? Patek Phillippe is undoubtedly the premium Swiss watchmaker, but most people wouldn't have a clue about what it is. There are a handful of high end Swiss watchmakers that rival or trump Rolex, but when an average Joe sees you wearing a Rolex, he immediately knows what it is, while he probably wouldn't blink an eye at a Patek Phillippe. Why is this?

  • Are the new single engine turboprop such as the denali and kestrel competitors to the king air lineup, or are they in their own category?

It looks as though the new singles are similar in size to the king air lineup, and since there is only one engine to worry about that's one less hot section, and overhaul to worry about, not to mention lower fuel consumption. Are the new singles supposed to compete with king air, or are they focused on another market?

  • Why is the Beechreaft Baron $400K more than the Piper Seneca?

Their very similar aircraft, both in size and performance. I'm not very knowledgeable about twin pistons but I've seen these aircraft compared side by side as competitors on many forums. Am I missing something? It seems like for an extra $400K Beechcraft could throw in a G3000 and a pressurized cabin? At the very least replace the conties with a pair of Allison 250s for better high altitude performance and a smoother ride! How can the beach sell for $1.4M when the piper is offered at $1M?

  • Why does the Cessna 172 cost significantly more than it did when it came out in 1956?

The relece price for the 172 in 1956 was $8700~$80,000(2018). The current skyhawk SP starts around $300,000. I've heard that the G1000 suit is about $50,000. So why doesn't the 2018 skyhawk cost around $130,000? What's so different about it? Its basically the same aircraft. At the flight club I'm part of, we have some 172s from 1979, a couple skyhawks from the 2000s, and a 2016 skyhawk SP. There's not much difference between them other than a little extra horsepower and a G1000 on the newer ones. How is the current price justified on something that's been around for decades, and isn't that different from the originals?

  • My Cohiba Behike has tobacco beetles. Can it still be smoked?

The prize of my cigar collection, my Cohiba Behike just started showing signs of tobacco beetles. Luckily, none of my other cigars in my humidor show signs. As of now they are all in the freezer getting purified. My Behike has about 3 holes in it, and is also in the freezer. Can it still be smoked, or is it no good. It doesn't look as damaged at this point as some other cigars I've seen online. Is it still good, or should I throw it away?

  • Can my parents legally confinscate my AR-15?

My mom just found out that I own an AR-15, and took it away. The gun is legally registered in my name, so I'm concerned that if something happens to it due to improper storage, I could be liable. I stored it in accordance with California Penal Code section 26355, but now I don't know how it's being stored now. What steps should I take to get it back? Thanks for any suggestions!

  • I just bought a Ruger AR-556 (8513) for MSRP $849. Did I pay too much?

I've been seeing them pop up online new for $650-$700. This was the first time I bought a gun, so I'm not familiar with weather I'm supposed to try to negotiate it down like a car, or buy at MSRP. As I said, I'm new to this, so any recommendations you could give me for future purchases would really help!

  • What are the IRIAF 747s used for?

2 of their -131 veriants were built back in 1969, and the IRIAF is the last operator of the -100 verriant with a respectable fleet of 5. What sort of strategic importance do these large aircraft serve that can't be done with a cheaper to operate KC-135, or another 707 tanker verriant?

  • Why have the prices for Mosin Nagant 91/30 gone up so high?

A few years ago Big 5 had sales for $99! Now whenever I search for the latest prices they start at $300! Why has there been such a dramatic increase in price? The Mosin Nagant is one of the most common guns in the world, and with no real modern military application only collectors/enthusiasts buy them. I don't think there's enough of those type of people around to cause the demand for the gun to go up to a shortage point, so what's going on here?

  • How much would it cost to maintain (annually) a 1965 Ford Mustang?

I'm planning to purchase a 1965 Mustang. The one I'm looking at is mechanically sound, and in very good overall condition. I will probably drive it 5K-7K miles/yr.

I don't work on vehicles myself so it will have to go to a mechanic for service.

Can anyone give me a rough estimate?

    Thanks!

  • Is carsforsale.com a site popular with scammers?

I've noticed (especially with luxury brands) I.e: Mercedes Benz, Bentley etc, that the prices offered in the low end are way too good to be true. There's no way you can pick up a recently serviced 2005 Continental GT for $23K! What's the deal with this site?
