  • I have a few questions about Gamefly?

First, please only answer if you a Gamefly member, or have been recently. Now, on to my question:

So, my gaming budget is a lot smaller than I wish it could be, so I had been looking into alternatives like Gamefly, but I have two questions.

    1. Do they have older titles for current systems (for example, PS3 launch titles), or do they only go back a certain amount of time?

    2. When putting a new or about to release game on your list, how long will it take to actually be able to get that game? In other words, would I end up having to wait months for newer games because of the demand, or do they have enough copies to limit how long after release you have to wait to play them. For example, if I added Injustice: Gods Among Us (out 4/15) on my list and had no games out, would I have to wait months to get it, or would I get it fairly soon after release?

I am thinking of doing the one game at a time thing for a few reasons. First, I have PS+, so I get free games all the time. Second, when I get a new game, I like to concentrate on that game and beat it quickly. This is also the reason why I am looking for alternatives to buying new, as there are some games that I have bought and ended up finishing within a week.

  • What drivers do I have to update, and how can I tell if I have them updated?

I am starting to get in to PC games (Windows 7) a little and was having trouble with one. Someone asked if my drivers were updated, but I had no idea what he was talking about. Was he referring to my graphics card's drivers, or something else?

Also, how do I check if my drivers even need to be updated? I have never done it (no idea how, obviously), but I do run the Windows Update whenever it comes up with updates. I usually don't bother with the optional updates, but I do check to see what they are.

  • How can I find out what GPU my computer has?

I have a Windows 7 laptop and am trying to find the specs for it. I have found all of them except the GPU. I need to know how to find out the specific name of the GPU in my computer.

I don't have access to the paperwork that came with it, though, so I need to know how to figure it out using the computer itself.

  • How can I watch movies on my Toshiba Thrive?

I am trying to put my digital copies onto my tablet, but I can't seem to do it.

The media player included with it won't play m4v files (which I had for my iPod), so I redid the digital copies to get the PC versions, which came out in wmv format.

What file type are movies supposed to be in order for me to watch them?

Are there any good free media players that will play the m4v (not mkv) files? I have heard suggestions for MX player and MoboPlayer, but neither will play the m4v files. Digital copies from DVD and Blu-Rays only download in wmv or m4v formats.

Are there any good, free video players? I tried MX player and MoboPlayer, but neither will play m4v, and my tablet won't even let me copy the wmv files into it (it's tells me I need to convert them, but I have no way to do that). What can I do to watch movies on my tablet?

It runs Andriod 3.2 with an Nvidia Tegra processor.

  • How can I rate apps in Andriod Marketplace?

Inside some apps, it has the option to rate the app. When I select that, it takes me to the app's info page in the marketplace, but I see no button to rate or review it. How do I do this?

  • How do I get movies & pictures from my computer to my Toshiba Thrive tablet?

I checked the owner's manual that I downloaded from Toshiba, but it doesn't say. Do I just connect it to a computer and put the files in it like using a USB flash drive, or do I need a program on my computer to sync it, like with iPods?

  • Any ideas on which tablet to look into getting?

I am looking into getting a tablet in the next week or so.

I was thinking of getting the Nook Tablet, but now I am hearing bad things about it. People are saying that the recent software update locked out third party apps and that you can only get apps from the Google store, not the Android Marketplace?

I have also heard bad things about the Kindle Fire.

After hearing the bad things about Nook, I started looking into the Blackberry Playbook (I can get a 32gb for $250 on Amazon), but can't find much info on it. Is this a good deal?

Also, any other tablets you can think of that I should look into?

Do now, however, suggest Acer. I have had Acer computers in the past and they were nothing but trouble, so I do not trust that brand.

  • Should I link my Playstation Network account with Steam?

I just downloaded Steam and it asks me to create an account or to use my Playstation login info. Are there any benefits to doing that, or is it just a quicker account creation method?

  • Are there headsets that are compatible with TV, 360, and PS3?

I am trying to find a headset (like Turtle Beach, Triton, etc) that can be used with a television and the 360 and PS3. I am looking for something comfortable with a microphone (detachable or not doesn't matter), wireless is possible, has decent sound, and is not too expensive.

I have tried searching, but can't seem to find that information. I have found some that are great for TV but say nothing about gaming and some that are great for gaming, but only on one system.

  • If I protect my tweets on Twitter, can other people still see what I post?

I am new to Twitter and was having a problem with people following me who I didn't want and was told I had to change my options to protect my tweets in order to be able to accept or deny followers.

My question, though, is if I do this, does it just change being able to accept or deny followers, or does it mean that only my followers can see what I post? If it does stop others from seeing what I tweet, is there a different way to accept or deny followers (aside from blocking them after they start following me)?

  • How can I deny someone following me on Twitter?

I just signed up and got a follower who has been on Twitter for over 6 months with only 3 tweets, two of which are ads for his website (which has pop up ads). It lists him as my follower and never gave me the chance to approve or deny him, and I can't find where to go to delete him.

  • PS3 - Where does downloaded content go?

Okay, this is possibly an odd question, but I have yet to figure this out. If you download DLC for a game and install it, where does it go? I ask because I downloaded patches and DLC for games I no longer own and want to free up the hard drive space. I deleted the game data utility for the game, but can't find the other stuff.

At first I thought it was all contained within the data utility but, when I just installed some DLC and went looking for it, I see 2 pieces of game data, but both were last accessed 2 months ago, according to the info.

I just want to make sure useless stuff isn't taking up hard drive space.

  • Can someone help me remember this PS1 game?

Ok, I played this game ages ago and it was good, so I want to see if I can get it again. It was a fighting game / action game hybrid where you played as one of several samurai (no, it's not Samurai Showdown). Each fight was one on one, and if you attacked at the right time, you could kill your opponent with the first strike. I believe it had the word Samurai in the title, but I can't remember what it was. Any help?

  • How do I get landmarks in L. A. Noire?

Okay, so I have a list of landmarks, badges, and whatnot for the game. Using the map, I went to the location of a landmark (LA Cold Storage Co.) during the opening case, but I have no idea how to get the game to acknowledge that I found it. I know it's the right building and I walked all around it to look up at it, but got nothing. It's the second one I went to. Do I need to wait until a certain part of the game before I start finding these? Already got a newspaper, so I figured I would get them along the way to the gun store, but can't figure out how, and the game tells you nothing.

  • What PC games can use an X-Box 360 controller?

I know the recently released Witcher 2 uses a 360 controller to play the game on PC, but does anyone know of others (for instance, any MMORPGs)?

    I was just curious.

  • Borderlands - should I wait to play DLC?

I recently bought all three DLC packs for Borderlands and, when I started playing the Zombie Island, the narrative said it takes place after the main game? Should I wait until beating the game before playing the three packs?

I am on the mission "the final piece" and it already says the difficulty is trivial because of my level. Will it be even easier if I do zombie island and moxie first (or at least zombie). If I beat the game first, will it make the DLC trivial?

I already plan to save the armory for after I beat it, since I figure it will be fine to wait since they raised the level cap with it, but wanted to see if anyone knew about the others.

So, should I wait for both zombie and moxie, do them whenever, or do one and wait for the other?

  • I am looking for a doll for my 8 y.o. She wants one that's close to her size, and soft (plush). Any ideas?

She wants it to be as life-like as I can find and be able to change the outfits, as she has several already. She used to have one, but it was lost, and she misses it. She's been sick lately, so I wanna try to do this for her. Any help would be greatly appreciated, by both of us.
