What is the ideal fuel for an internal combustion engine?
This question is of a theoretical nature. Consider the ideal fuel could be manufactured by some process.
Criteria for the ideal fuel would be something that can be used in internal combustion engines, either spark ignition or compression ignition engine. The operating parameters of the engine may be changed. It will produce little or no emissions and will burn quickly so that most, if not all of the fuel will be burnt during the combustion process.
Please include an explanation with your answer. Thanks in advance.

ISG's are available for some time now, coupled with a stop-start switch they can improve fuel efficiency by a lot. Haven't found where to buy them or get one installed.
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoHas anyone used synthetic ATF on a 2000 Camry?
It's a 2000 Camry LE 4cyl. Toyota recommends Dexron III ATF , not T-IV. Researching the market, I found the following type of ATF's available.
Toyota ATF (petro based Dexron III)
Castrol ATF (petro based Dexron III)
Mobil 1 ATF ( synthetic Dexron III)
Redline D4 ( synthetic Dexron III) - used by BMW and Corvette.
So far, I am leaning towards the Toyota ATF.
Please respond only if you have actually used any one of these products.
