If you want to know something about me, just ask.
Do strikers in MMA more often fight from inside or outside the distance?
I think the knuckledusters they wear encourage outside fighting for someone that intends to stay on their feet but I mostly just watch re-runs of old fights :D
5 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoDoes asking how many of X is needed to screw in a lightbulb constitute believing that X is dumb?
Never thought I'd be accused of stereotyping MMA fighters as falling off the barstool and into the cage. Free country, I guess. BUT there's plenty that don't know about the big name MMA fighters that have degrees and I hate to see that go unnoticed by the MMA bashers that post here so here's a few of them
Rashad Evans, Psychology , Michigan State
Chuck Liddell, Accounting , California Polytechnic
Rich Franklin, Education master's and mathematics degree, University of Cincinatti
Forrest Griffin, Political Science, University of Georgia
I still think it would take at LEAST Fedor, Rampage, Tim Sylvia, and Gonzaga to change a burnt-out lightbulb that Galactus and Chuck Norris are defending with their lives. Reasoning? Fedor can't lose a fight unless it is a tournament so he'll take the initial shots for Rampage who can use his JOO JIT SOO to control Galactus while Gonzaga knocks out Chuck Norris with a roundhouse kick since nobody would expect that. Sylvia can then change the lightbulb.
6 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoHow many MMA champions does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
With Galactus and Chuck Norris aiming to keep the burnt-out one in its place.

They look easy to take off and put on but they also look like they'd hurt my fingers

I heard they'd try to put all the boxing organizations together or something like that.

This is at the end of the dude's nidan test. The test is 2 hours long and then he has to show technical skill against random attacks though not in a full contact manner of course. I recorded the vid and he did pass the test.
The test itself is essentially a formality because of the many pre-tests but it is not a cakewalk.
12 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoJust feed Chuck some grapplers again?
Looks like Liddell has trouble against people with serious striking skills.
6 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoAre there any pro rasslin' moves that are viable in MMA?
maybe not the suplexes or chokeslams but once you've got a dude on your shoulder perhaps there's a few pro wrestling moves from that position that are legal, don't require cooperation, and are still useful at the same time
9 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoAbout when did kongo break cro cop's rib in their fight?
I saw the fight once but I must have blinked or went to get chips when it happened and I don't have it recorded
3 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoWhy were the best fights the undercards?
Nothing says The Count like a skull with a monocle, eh?
Anyway, That first fight was a close second best of the night. Really mixed up all phases of combat at a fast pace.
The irish hand grenade guy I thought was finished for sure but it seems he has good training in defending against the ground-and-pound. The show of offensive and defensive skill in all phases made that fight the best.
The count vs the hammer was a good fight. The wrestler didn't turn the fight stale and in fact kept it standing where his real skill is as evidenced by the many clean takedowns. The split decision win had me steaming mad though which made the whole thing suck after that fight
Quinton vs Dan was cool while quinton was slipping subs or boxing but most of the fight was two guys rolling all about. The part where quinton pushed off the cage and flipped back over to get up was pure awesomeness. Maybe I just don't appreciate the subtleties of keeping someone in a disadvantageous position.
3 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoDid Quinton win his fight?
I was sure that Dan won the fight but all judges do is roll dice anyway it seems with that bisping decision

1 AnswerMartial Arts1 decade agoWill Chuck Liddel use his fearsome eye-poking skills to win back the belt?
He does have "accidental" fouls now and then
7 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoHow much time do martial hobbyists really spend practicing dirty fighting?
For me, the kick to the groin is part of the basics but everything else is "You can do all kinds of stuff from this position here but the basic idea is to open them up for this other thing here.." and then we move on to the rest of the technique. I don't think its takes that long to learn most dirty fighting moves except for the rather precise finger and wrist things.
