  • What are good conditioning sprays for synthetic wigs?

Not the good kind - the cheap wigs one would buy for halloween.

WOuld you mention any brands you've used?

    Thanks

  • Isn't running your hands through someone's hair a pretty intimate gesture?

When I was a kid - I used to want to braid the hair of my female friends. If I was told not to touch - I didn't. End of story. I certainly never touched a guy's hair without permission - even when I was young.

I can't understand why it is that to this day - people will take liberties and put their hands in a woman's hair.

A black female friend recently described that a work colleague ran her hands in her hair to check for tracks. The colleague is a white woman married to a black man. She seemed to think that gave her automatic permission.

My friend said she was discomfitted but didn't say anything at the time.

    Why does this still happen?

I can't remember the last time I took it upon myself to touch someone else's hair. Even friends that I've known for years. My friend doesn't take those liberties - why wouldn't that be a clear, easy to read signal.--> I don't do it to you or anyone else. Don't do it to me.

I know that some people have had enough of black women complaining about strangers touching our hair. And there are some who will claim "I don't care if people touch my hair". Nice for those who feel that way. I prefer living by "Do unto others..."

Anyone have a similar experience? Is it a dare? Reality show effect? Revenge for Obama?
