So my friend has a female chihuahua thats prego and is 61 days prego today. Well since Saturday (2 days ago) she was nesting a LITTLE, Eyes were dialated, and she was hiding under the blankets. Well Today my friend noticed that there was something hanging out of her and she went to look and it was slime. Well she has been taking the temp every 2 hours and she had been ranging from 100.5-98.9. Well last night about midnight she was at 100.3, well at 5 in the morning about 6 is was 97.1 so we thought ok should be time. Well 3 hours later she checked and it was 100.5. So we contacted the vet and he said we need to see her sounds like in labor but the temp is pretty high. So we drove to the vet and he checked her said " She is not dialated, She is in prelabor. She also has not lost her mucus plug. He said it can be 30 mins to 2 days now. So My question is if she hasnt lost her mucus plug why she have mucus? Also what does he mean Prelabor?? The vet is on call and My work knows and so does the owner of the dogs work. So everything is good plus we do know what we r doing plus have welped litters before. But how long u guys think?

So my dog thought she had to put a hole in the bottom of her crate. It's a wire crate with the black removel bottom. Well I'm needing a new one. Does anyone know were I can just get bottom and not whole kennel? I have asked petsmart and petco but no luck. Let me know thanks

Ok so my Chihuahua had puppies on 7-11-11 by c-section. Well she had 7 puppies and they all lived and the vet said they looked good. So I was able to take them home and about the 4-5 day I noticed the runt had stopped eating so I took a bottle and started feeding her and first she wouldnt eat but then she started. So I would feed every 2 hours and she was doing good but not gaining weight I would weigh her daily and for 2 weeks she has stayed at 3oz. Well I feed her and the mom will clean her and I saw poop on her lil but (like if the mom licked and it kinda stuck) so I cleaned the butt. Well tonight I noticed (I check the pups all the time) I noticed that the little ones left eye is swollen? She still ate not as much but he had looked like she had got some from the mom. Well she also likes to lay under the other 6 puppies and never on top. Well I called my vet and got no answer so I left a message and he usually calls back right away but it has been 15 mins so as Im waiting I was just seeing if anyone has had or seen anything like that before and possibly what is wrong? If you might know please let me know

I have a 5 month old pit pup and she thinks she has to eat non stop so I have to take the food away or she will eat a whole bad in one day and she drinks tons of water (she is a inside dog) and her belly bloats up big and makes her belly look way round. I have also tried to give her little food through out the day to see how she gets but her belly gets so big she starts to walk funny lol. She isnt tall either so she almost hits the floor lol. Is there anything I can give her possible change food or a vitamin to make her look different?

So my sisters male dog got neutered 6 days ago and when he got done you could tell he was neutered but now he looks like he has never been neutered his sacks are full and its mushy? What does it sound like could be the problem will it go away? My vet is supposed to call me back by 1 O'clock to let me know when I can take him in.

So I have a pit bull puppy. Well she is 5 months old but just a couple days ago I took her to the park with my male (he is Neutered just got it done 11 days ago) and before he got nuetered he has kinda showed some aggression toward her but not now he will play with her like best friends and like 2 days was the 1st actual time they spent a day together (we had been trying since she was 8 weeks) but now I can take her to the park and either drop the leash or take the leash off of her and let her run around but she will not leave my male she wants to be right by his side so I am happy that she stays by because of him but now she LOVES people and she just wants to lick them and dogs she wants to play but if I am somewere or even at home how can I train her not to take off running to people?

So I have a dog he is a pit bull. well he has been having this bad odor so the vet said he would need to be neutered to fix the problem plus a abscess would start in his butt. A while back he had a prostate problem well that got fixed but the smell hasnt. He hasnt been neutered yet (waiting for the money) but we were at the park and I noticed below his butt hole it is kinda big like swollen it almost looks like if he was a female dog and a male dog breed and they were tied thats what it looks like. I touched it and its soft but hard in 1 spot. Its on his butt below his butt hole. Does it sound like a abscess and he is going to be getting fixed asap? He goes to the vet in 2 hours at 330 but I am just seeing what u guys think?????

Ok so I buy my dog pillows like the ones people use. Well she has done really good but recently she has gotten sick and she peed in her kennel which ran into her pillow so her pillow is all wet. Can I wash it in the washing machine?

So my dog has really bad diarrhea she is 3 months old and the dog food I was feeding her the store dont cary that kind no more so I had to change it. Well I did now she has the runs like crazy she never poops in her kennel and this morning she did and then I took her outside and now its like water. is there anything I can give her to help stop the runs? So she was sleeping this morning and she woke up and had mucus like in her eyes and comiong out I pulled it all out but every time she goes to sleep and gets up there is more. Does it sound like shes getting a cold? Plus she has diarrhea, and very clam, also just wants to sleep alot.

So I asked a question yesterday about a dog getting bitten well I took her to the vet he looked at her said looks like there is nothing wrong with the eye and she dont have rabies. He didnt run tests or anything but I am wonering if I should take to another vet? Today she has runny poop its brown. But she still acts kinda normal like she will play and bite she has been since I got her, She jumps up for table food normal. She is right now on the couch laying there she dont like her kennel so she dont like to sleep in there. Also I had a dog sitter watch her today for me and she only fed her one time around 12 p.m and she keeps picking up stuff to eat but she always has something in her mouth. Ima go feed her but does it sound like she might have rabies or am I just paranoid? I trust this vet he has never proved me wrong but im kinda scared? What should I do?

Ok so I have a little puppy she is 12 weeks old. She sleeps in my bed cause she is a spoiled dog. But anyways she keeps waking up at 3 a.m and sometimes 5 a.m to go to the bathroom. I used to let her just eat when ever but now I feed her through out the day and then I feed her about 6:45 p.m and make sure all food is gone by 7 p.m and then I go to bed about 12 a.m and I let her outside for about 15 mins (she dont stay out to long) and she comes in and goes to bed and then at 3 a.m she is waking up to go the bathroom pee and poop so I wake up right away take her outside. How can I get her to stop and sleep all night?
