For a long time I have been trying to find the word or phrase the describes the boundary between family and outsiders

or between friends and foes

or between what we have and what we want.

"Ego boundaries" doesn't fit.

"Inner circle" doesn't fit.

"Personal boundaries" doesn't fit.

It is the boundary between what we want to protect and what we don't care about.

The boundary between "us" and "others".

Can someone help me here, please?

Knowing the power supply voltage of an audio amplifier, can you determine the maximum r.m.s. power of its output.

Some people think in pictures and some people think in words. (I wonder how people who are blind and deaf think.) People who think in pictures say that they have to translate words into pictures to understand what is being said. They say that when they think it is like pressing the play button on a DVD player. How much is lost in the translation? I would guess quite a bit.

I notice that some people approach mental disorders and mental illness from a point of thought while others approach them from a point of the feelings that drive us. I notice a big difficulty in the translation of one point of view to the other. I see both sides trying really hard to connect with each other. Is this difficulty related to how one basically thinks?

Does any one, please, have any suggestions on how I might do a little research on this difference in thinking and this difference in the approach to treatment or therapy?

Last Friday, allegations surfaced that three members of the United States Naval Academy football team had sexually assaulted a female midshipman in April 2012.

Candidates for the U.S. Naval Academy are appointed by U.S. Senators. I might assume that these candidates are the elite of our society. It is hard for me to comprehend how these highly intelligent people can put themselves at such risk, let alone bring such harm to another human being.

It also seems to me that sports is the most common area where such sex acts occur.

Yet sex abuse acts occur with stupid and physically weak perps.

These midshipmen were intelligent people and very aware of the consequences of their deeds. Where were their intelligence and awareness when they acted out?

What made their intelligence and awareness vulnerable? I might ask the same question about alcoholics and other addicts. Karen Carpenter comes to my mind.

Shouldn't everyone be asking these questions?

Every time I use my printer the ink has dried up. How about a dot matrix printer printing directly on carbon paper? Gee, can you still get carbon paper? How about a DMP or impact printer with a carbon film ribbon? Are they still available? I am not particularly interested in color.

Any suggestions truly appreciated.

The Fine and Course stage elevation knobs work fine.

On the other side of the microscope are knobs that seem to be out of adjustment. They just mess things up when I turn them. They have something to do with the lateral movement of a pinion gear.

Can anyone tell me what these knobs are supposed to do?

Do you think I will be happy with MS Paint? I know nothing about MS PowerPoint. Would PowerPoint work?

Where can I get a template?

I am not interested in printing it. So I would prefer portrait over landscape.
