Does the 1st 2 octets of a public IP address always belong to a single organization?
Can I assume that for public IP (Internet Protocol) address, each organization is assigned the 1st 2 octets?
E.g. For 125.10.1.2 the 1st octet is 125, 2nd octet is 10, 3rd octet is 1 and 4th octet is 2.
And 125.10.*.* will always belong to 1 organization?
Instead of 125.10.0.0 - 125.10.100.0 = Organization A and 125.10.101.0 - 125.10.200.0 = Organization B
As in no 2 (or more) organizations will share the 1st 2 octets of a public IP address?
Please provide any reference. Thanks.
