  • How do I broadcast a webcam with password protection?

I know how to broadcast a webcam to the internet, I just need to restrict who watches it. Here's the scenario: XP Laptop connected to a cell phone internet connection, dropped 10 miles from the closest phone or power line. I want to share my live video stream with a few select people, not the whole world. I would prefer not spending much (or any) money.

  • Internet storm online graph?

I'm looking for a good url for an internet storm/dos attack graph, which will show me a current internet traffic report and perhaps the ability to compare it to the last day or week. I had a client today who had really awful internet connectivity for a few hours, and I'm looking for something to perhaps explain why.

  • Boolean operator in Excel?

I use excel to keep track of my billing. When I send out an invoice, I put a "n" in a column titled "Have they paid me yet?" and delete the n when the check comes in. I want a formula that looks at that column, and for every n it finds, adds and totals the dollar value of those invoices into another cell. That way I can see how much money I would have if my clients actually paid me on time, and then cry.

Can you write a mock equation for me?

  • How do I print to from to an XP shared HP PhotoSmart from a Mac?

I have a Mac running 10.4.10, and XP service pack 2. I have a HP Photosmart c4200, connected to the xp machine via USB, which prints fine, and the printer is shared. I have a network set up on the PCs (workgroup). I can see the network on the mac, but not the printer. Detailed instruction would be most helpful

  • How do I keep a thousand gallon water tank from freezing, cheaply?

I am associated with a group of people who bought land East of Portland, OR. The 50 acres are on a dirt road, with no electricity or water. Mostly for personal camping and party use, the regulations from the government are that no permanent structures can be built. There are a couple geodesic domes. One of the people has brought in a thousand gallon water tank, with the idea of filling it with snow run off and rainwater, to help water the trees (Ponderosas) that live up there. ON A SHOESTRING BUDGET, how do we keep the filled tank from freezing and bursting during the extended 0c wintertime? Burying the tank is not a option (rocky soil, no backhoe). Electricity, if needed, would be solar panel/deep cell battery. We could enclose the tank in a simple structure if needed.

  • I like to answer important questions. Is there a way to filter out Does my dog/boyfriend/god love me queries?

I don't mean to be callous, but I am interested in using this service to answer useful questions. About 75% of the questions posted are just silly. When I get to the home answer page I would like to have questions listed that are genuine and answerable.

Maybe a filter that subtracts anyone that has less than x points?

  • I have a lot of sawdust and glycerine (biodiesel byproduct). Anyone have experience making firelogs?

We produce about one 30 gallon garbage can of sawdust a week. These logs would be for outside camping use, most likely. We also have access to a machine shop, and could build a compression device also. This device would have to be easy to use and fairly time efficient. Thoughts?
