I like to answer important questions. Is there a way to filter out Does my dog/boyfriend/god love me queries?

One thing that you could do is to pick a keyword that interests you and do an advanced search for open questions that include that keyword... Then you can answer the questions that interest you without having to go through the lists of dog/boyfriend/god questions....

When I have lots of time, I keep a window open at the home answer page AND I open another window for advance search questions that interest me... Then I just go back and forth between them :-)

The best thing you can do is use the Advanced search feature located next to the search box. This will allow you to specify the category and keywords to search on and allows you to search for only open questions. That way you can target the type of question you prefer to answer.

No there is no way to filter out the questions. But you could go to the advanced search type in what you want to answer and choose the open questions button.

Stay in the sections that have useful questions. There are a lot of them. You do have the sections like polls & survey that are just for fun. There are a lot of good questions on here just scroll down the page and weed out the dumb, stupid, nasty, etc... questions!!!
