Ok, looking for the title of a short story from a book in my elementary school library. It was a gray book with a story about a girl left alone after a nuclear war. She made paper flowers to remember how the world was before it all happened. The only real line I remember is, "whay had they done to her world?" Any takers?

I see so many conspiracy websites out there; many purport that the government orchestrated the run-up to the war in Iraq and the destruction of the Twin Towers. If this were so, why couldn't the military/CIA just plant some WMDs in Iraq to gain credibility?

This little detail sticks out like a sore thumb on the whole "the government planned it" thing.

Managed to hear the complete 1968 cover of Adagio in G Minor this weekend and it blew my mind. I had loved it as background off the American Prayer, but it is just too much by itself.

What other recommendations for such works are out there?

I wired everything together and can hear the Sirius broadcast over the radio (90.1 FM here in Columbus, Ohio), but still hear other FM broadcasts when I switch stations. I expected the switch to shut out all other frequencies and only be able to use the FM radio when the Starmate was off. The gadget did not come with instructions and I don't know if it's a bad unit or if my expectations were off.
