Hey, chill out people! I'm just doing a little social experimenting with Yahoo Answers. Some questions I'm honestly interested in hearing your feedback and others are just asked for the LULZ! The whole point is to provoke you into an emotional response for a quick laugh. Anyone who responds negatively to a question on Yahoo Answers is a complete tool; there's no getting around that fact!
Why are Nigs so different from human beings?
Just curious. My physical anthropology instructor at Reed said blacks are very rare in academia because of their inability to comprehend basic instructions and follow directions. Are they even useful as servants?
5 AnswersAnthropology8 years agoShould I defrag a hard drive before doing a complete system backup?
Making system backups by creating a disk image of the entire hard drive is totally new to me. I just made my first Windows system repair disk yesterday for my new laptop computer along with a full disk image of the hard drive. I was just wondering if I tried to make a disk image of my 5 year old gaming rig's HDD, would the fragments be carried over to the new image of the HDD? I read somewhere on the internet that the fragmented pieces would remain intact unless I did a zip compression backup of just the data files without the system files... I hope I'm being clear about my situation. It's a tad complex.

To be more precise: Is the Nvidia 660M GTX as powerful as its desktop cousin the 660 GTX?
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks9 years agoIs Wikipedia an encyclopedia or a "Communal Blog"?
Wikipedia has a history of numerous documented cases involving censorship by its Administrators, instant publishing of anonymously submitted content, lack of accountability, and disrespect for expertise. Does that sound like an encyclopedia to you?
3 AnswersWikipedia9 years agoDoes Thrifty brand ice cream contain bovine growth hormone?
I'm just a bit concerned about consuming ice cream that has Monsanto's Posilac brand of BGH in the ice cream that I decide to eat. Based on the research that I've already done, it's very clear that brands like "Dreyer's", Haagan Daz, and Ben and Jerry's are completely hazardous to human health. You'd think that a brand like B&J's would be safe to consume because it's manufactured in Vermont which is known for it's excellent dairy products, but even that company has folded under pressure to the Milk Board so it seems like every dairy product produced in the U.S. should be inspected carefully for artificial contaminants before purchasing.
3 AnswersAgriculture9 years agoWhy are the world media organizations lying about what's really happening in Libya?
The capital city of Libya is not under rebel control which is not what NATO and the world media would like you to believe. Why are they misinforming the public? Many foreign journalists that are holed up in the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli are reporting that the inability of the rebels to take over Tripoli, is the armed population, and the popularity of Libyan leader Qaddafi.
6 AnswersCurrent Events10 years agoWhy did the Obama administration fabricate such a ridiculous story in regards to the bin Laden assassination?
The US government has been caught on several occasions within the past decade staging military operations for the purposes of generating contrived, pro-war sentiment amongst the American public. Both the “rescue” of Jessica Lynch and the death of Pat Tillman were complete fables, scripted and staged at complete odds with the truth and unleashed on Americans as part of a psychological warfare offensive to elicit support for the war on terror, almost identical to what we’re seeing now with the Bin Laden sideshow. Given the fact that the US government has been caught red-handed scripting tales of pure fiction in order to justify the war on terror, notably in the cases of Jessica Lynch and Pat Tillman, why on earth should we believe them now?
7 AnswersCurrent Events10 years agoWhat is the best graphic tablet for artists?
I'm going to start learning to use the GIMP graphics editor to produce some drawings and other artwork directly into the computer rather than my usual technique of uploading a digital snapshot of my drawings and tweaking it later once it's on the hard drive. I get pretty good results with that technique but it's a bit time-consuming as I have to adjust the camera for lighting and position and hope the picture comes out clear and so on and so forth.
What's the most popular and reasonably priced graphic tablet on the market? I would assume these devices would be fairly expensive as compared to standard optical mice.
2 AnswersOther - Hardware10 years agoWhat is the best overall strategy for improving at the game of go?
Referring to the age-old board game of go or baduk if you're Korean... Do I just focus on tsumego until my eyes bleed? Or should I balance my time equally with fuseki techniques, tesuji, and tsumego? Or just play endlessly until I just figure it out?
I ask this question because I've been stuck around 10-11 kyu for the longest time and few players that I've trained are now much better than me! It's very frustrating.
2 AnswersBoard Games10 years agoWhy are so many Yahoo! news articles riddled with so many grammatical errors and simple spelling mistakes?
I can't seem to finish reading a paragraph without coming across at least two sentences with horrible structure or glaring spelling errors. I would expect the Yahoo! news department to at least have editors and proofreaders on staff if they're going to claim to be a competent news agency?
4 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoWhich Vista system service(s) is/are required for internet connectivity?
I was tinkering with Vista's services.msc program the other day (which allows me to selectively disable/enable the more than 130 system services that run in the background on Vista) in order to improve overall computer performance and suddenly I lost internet connectivity as a result of disabling a necessary service. I'm not familiar enough with the Windows Vista operating system to know which disabled service has caused this. Now my Netgear wireless adapter LED light is constantly blinking from blue to amber and can no longer detect my wireless router. In fact, Vista gives me a message saying that it cannot detect a wireless network anymore. My wireless router is working perfectly as the LED display seems to indicate so I know the problem is not with the router. Through trial and error I will eventually solve this problem on my own but it would save me a lot of time if anyone could tell me which system service I should enable.
This is not an easy question to answer and so I appreciate any expert opinions I can get.
2 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoWhat is a safe and natural way to encourage normal elimination of the bowels?
.....without having to resort to eating prunes all day with a gallon of water.... I've eliminated all the things in my diet that could possibly cause constipation such as coffee, alcohol, refined sugar, junk food, most cooked foods, and severely reduced my consumption of all types of meat. Any advice from a naturopathic physician would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
8 AnswersAlternative Medicine1 decade agoWhen will carbonation be removed from beer?
I'm sick and tired of American swill with all its carbonation and bitterness. Was there ever a time when they produced beer in American the old fashioned way without carbonation? It seems like you have to travel to Europe to get good beer these days. Why don't they import the good stuff?
9 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoWhat do you think the percentage is of viewers who watch Fox News just to get a good laugh?
This question clearly doesn't need any more explanation... I personally would estimate that a whopping 30% of all viewers are laughing hysterically every time they flip over to Faux News. I find it to be inconceivable that Americans are that dumb as to believe that bs. Apart from their ridiculous pr campaign that 911 wasn't an inside job and that we really need to be occupying Afghanistan/Iraq, Fox News actually supports evil corporations like Monsanto and Merck.
6 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoWhat are some of the techniques that CIA Jackals use to force foreign governments into submission?
I've heard about the work of economic hit men who try to bully foreign governments that are strategically important to the U.S. to accept enormous loans for infrastructure development, and to make sure those lucrative projects are contracted to U.S. corporations. But when they fail to convince countries like Venezuela for instance--which is happening right now--the CIA sends in their Jackals to finish the job with more aggressive tactics. So I was curious as to what types of techniques the CIA uses at this phase of the operation to bring these governments under U.S. control.
1 AnswerOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoIf I wanted to save money on web hosting services could I essentially host my website on my own computer?
I was curious if it was possible to turn a regular pc into a server for web hosting and would a special connection to the internet be required like maybe a T1 connection? Any special software needed for something like this? I know the computer would have to be turned on all the time but that's not a big issue for me.
11 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoWhat makes one server more powerful and faster than another?
Is it a faster cpu or more memory or a massive hard drive or a better connection to the internet? Could it also be that some servers are part of a network of servers that provide the same website? This might be a loaded question with no easy answer.
3 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoDo you think the internet will one day become conscious and self-aware?
This is an interesting question worthy of discussion as numerous science fiction authors and scientists are currently grappling with this idea. Sometime early in the 21st century, the internet will have as many connections as does a human brain. When our own brains reached a certain threshold level of complexity we became conscious and self aware and we know that that happened about 40,000 years ago from the archaeological record.
7 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoAre many of you aware that the new James Cameron picture "Avatar" is really not much to talk about?
Apart from amazing CG special effects, this film has a standard "Hollywood" evil vs. good story formula that lacks in the originality department and therefore should be completely avoided until it comes out on DVD. Honestly, the story will not grab you in any way shape or form because of it's predictability factor. Did you notice that there's no good actors in this production? Just standard Hollywood grade "B" fare if you ask the experts.
