I answer. I also ask.

  • Is she a true friend ?

Long story short. I had planned out my birthday earlier that week. I texted Mary about food options the day before the celebration in the morning. Later that same day, at around 4pm, I receive a text from Mary stating that she will not make it, as I have not formally invited her. She also mentions a friend's birthday which she attended instead. Of course I'm baffled because I made it very clear Mary was invited earlier that morning. I mean, would I have asked her about food or even said out loud how much fun WE, as in the two of us, will have celebrating ? I like to point out Mary was oddly defensive in her response to my reaction (which was a mere "What? I don't get it" btdubbs). She assumed I'd need her as DD, which again can you say jumping to conclusions. Mary never apologized in person btw, just that tx and a card. So, opinions please. Tell me how it is, not what I want to hear. Honestly, do you believe her actions were just ?
