  • Neighbor claims my dog scratched her car. I was willing to pay but she is being unreasonable!?

My neighbor claims my dogs go out of their fence (they have done it once before), scratched her grandchild's back, and scratched both fenders and the hood of her car. She sent the police to my house to say that the child (3 yrs) was not hurt but she wanted me to fix the scratches in her car. "No problem", I said at the time. My ex-husband and I use to have an auto repair shop and did quite a few full body paint jobs so I knew this would not be a hard problem to fix. The neighbor came to my home almost a week later and she said she wasn't trying to rip me off she just wanted the paint fixed on her car and she would get a fair estimate. I am still thinking this is not going to be a problem. Almost another week goes by and she finally brings an estimate, from her son's body shop..$650.27, hands it to my daughter (24) and leaves. I hit the ceiling when I seen it. Still trying to resolve this issue, I go to her home, look at the damage to her car and see a few scratches through the layer of dirt and dust. I wet my finger and swiped it across a scratch and it disappears. 3 days later the woman comes back to my home, hands my daughter another estimate, leaves, and this one is for 705.12. So I finally catch the lady outside the following day and talk to her personally. I explain that I can have her car fixed right for less than 200.00 from 3 or 4 different people that paint vehicles professionally and am more than willing to have 1 of them paint her car. She tells me that they would have to meet with her son and do it his way before she would agree to let any one of them paint it. Really? Then the next words out of her mouth are, "What do you have that you could trade that is worth 650 to 700 to me?" "My son said you have a jet ski." " I really could use a double carport like the one you have." The next day I tried to tell her again I could have her car fixed through one of the people I know but again she refused that arrangement because she would rather her son do it. Her car is a 1997 Ford Taurus that is worth 900 to 1,000. It has dents and peeling paint in several spots on the car. Her estimate from her son charges for 2 gallons of paint yet it only needs a pint. A gallon would paint the whole car. The other estimate charges for new headlights and repairing a bumper in addition to 1 gallon of paint. I have refused to pay such unreasonable and clearly fraudulent estimates. Do I have to use the body shop of her choice? Also, if I have offered to have the car fixed and she has refused, does that release me from reliability? I would still pay someone I know to fix her car but where she claims my dogs scratched it has no scratches down to the primer it is just light clearcoat or lacquer scratches. What should I do? If she decides to sue me in small claims court how do prove I was willing to have the car fixed just not at her expensive son's or friend's shop?

  • Why am I even staying in this marriage? We are more like friends than husband and wife. Is it time to end it?

My husband and I have been married for 4 and 1/2 yrs. We no longer sleep in the same bed and have sex like once every couple of months. I have asked him repeatedly why we do not have sex, if it is something wrong with me or if it is him and he gets very angry at me and will not give me a straight answer, just lots of different excuses. Sex is very important to me because I feel that it is another way of showing your love for the person you love but he says he doesn't see it that way. Am I wrong? I am very hurt and depressed over this. I same cranky and irritable and do not feel like he loves me anymore. The other aspects of our relationship is good but this one part is ruining it all. I know that he is not cheating on me but I am not happy anymore. I have tried to talk to him but all we do is end up arguing. I am on the verge of ending my marriage because I want a man that wants me sexually. What should I do because I do love him and want this to work?

  • What is the earliest day to file an income tax return?

My husband and I have custody of our two grandchildren, and have had them since February, and we are going to file them on our income tax. The trouble is that their parents let the other grandparents file them last year and feel that they are going to try to do it again this year. What is the earliest date that we can file our taxes so that no one else can claim them?

  • I need help, my daughter just told me that her husband is "cooking" crystal meth. What should I look for?

My daughter has two children at home both under the age of 2 and is married to a man that seemed fairly decent at the time. The problem is, he seems to have turned into a horrible monster in the last year. He has beaten my daughter senseless and burned her with cigarettes, threatened to kill her, the kids and her family just to name a couple of things. He loaded them up one night and left and none of her family heard from her for over a year. His family knew where they were but refused to tell me anything. To make a long story short, my daughter managed to go to town with her mother-in=law one day with both children and she was able to find a way to call me. I immediately went and got her and the children. She told me that her husband has been "cooking" crystal meth, his has an uncle that somehow got out of doing 80 years in the pen for three manufacturing charges. What I need to know is what to look for as far as how it is done or what is used to make it. He doesn't need to be free.

  • 35, grandmother, and trying for another one of my own.?

I have a 20 year old daughter and I have never taken any kind of birth control or preventive methods and can not get pregnant again. I have severe menstrual cycles...cramping and such.... When I ovulate though, I have terrible pains down my legs, Drs. say I have ovarian cysts but only during ovulation. I am normal in every other way according to my physician and should be pregnant several times over by now but no results. I know it isn't my current husband because he has three other children and the other men I have had relationships with also have children...Does anyone have any advice on what I might try????? I have tried unbelievable positions.. standing on my head ...laying still for 5 minutes or more with my butt in the air...is this good advice or just getting out of control with desperation??? Trust me, you aren't the only one laughing!!
