I like piercings and tattoos. I listen to progressive and symphonic heavy metal and a lot of screamo/post-hardcore. (Favorites=Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Epica, Kamelot, Bullet for My Valentine, Escape the Fate, Saosin) I'm completely obsessed with folklore and Nordic mythology. For some reason I have a huge thing for scene boys ;). uh, and I'm in college.

  • lip piercing jewelry question?

Ok, so this sounds kind of dumb, but how do I change my lip ring from one captive bead ring to another? How do I take out one and put in the other? Because I'm not quite sure how to get the bead out...

  • scarring on a lip ring?

Hey. I'm seriously considering getting my lip pierced, and i was just wondering about the scarring after/if you take it out. I know it's going to scar, but is it like a little dot or does it leave a huge, noticeable scar? This is of course if it heals normally without infection, etc.

Please no "i don't like piercings" comments, I already have 11 and a tattoo so you're not changing my mind,

  • On the tramp stamp thing?

Does anyone know the origins of calling tattoos on women, "tramp stamps"? I know nowadays its mostly used in reference to the lower back, but some people consider any tattoos a women has tramp stamps.

I am a straight A college student at one of the top colleges in the country and far from being one who sleeps around, but guess what? I have a tattoo, and am getting more. Most people I know with tattoos are similar.

A study was done way back in the 70s that showed only about 1% of tattooed people are outlaws/convicts, even then before they were so widespread. So where does this belief come from, and why is it still prevalent?

  • Anyone feel like indie music is way overrated?

I really hate most of the hipster music thats out there right now. It feels like in order to have an intellectual, good taste in music, you need to listen to indie rock. To me, it all sounds the same, with melodies altered by like one note, and when I say as much, my friends who listen to it look at me like I'm not enlightened enough or something. Anyone else feel this way?
