How to recapture my Holiday spirit?

I am usually always so excited for the holiday season that is rapidly approaching. For some strange reason I am not. I can't put my finger on the cause. I usually decorate to excess but so far all I've had the gumption to do is put up my garland and unpack some of my Elves. Yes, I listened to christmas music while decorating but it hasn't lifted my spirit. What do you think I should do to snap me out of my funk and get back in the game and spirit for decorating? Maybe I need to read what some of you do to decorate your homes. Do you have a collection of ornaments that are your favorites? I collect Faberge egg style ornaments and Mark Roberts Christmas Elves. I would really enjoy reading everyone's responses and I will choose the one that puts me back in the spirit.

If your Zodiac sign did change, are you happy with it? I don't think I am. No offense to original Virgo's, but I was happy being a Scorpio. I have a gold pendant with emeralds that I love to wear. I've been one all my life and now somebody says I can't be one anymore. Horse pucky. How do you feel if you are now something else. Or am I ranting over something trivial?

I am still working on getting all of my things down and boxed up. I have a lot of things that have to be boxed in their original boxes and that is taking me forever. I keep bringing in boxes and filling them, then taking them out and then bring in more. Will it ever end. I love Decorating for Christmas but I really hate taking everything down after. I would love to leave it all up but it would be a hassle trying to dust all of it.

Does anyone still practice the old traditions of putting up and decorating the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve? I have only met one family that still does that. Is it because they wait until the last minute to get a cheaper tree? Or is it something that they always do because it's a tradition. If you are a family that does it, how long do you leave your tree up? I put my tree up (an artificial) in early November, but I take it down just before New Years day. What do you do?

Have you finished all the Christmas present shopping and wrapping yet? I did all the wrapping yesterday morning and in the afternoon I made out all of the Christmas Cards. I had to finish the Decorating last week because we had all my co-workers over for our annual party. So now all I have to do is sit back and enjoy the rest of the holiday. What do you have left to do?

When you decorate for christmas do you always use the same decorations or do you add other new ones to change it up? I am constantly adding new ones every year. I keep telling myself that "This year I'm going to stop" but I don't. I think I'm a christmas collector that has issues. I am running out of places to put things and it takes me a lot longer to pack everything away after christmas.

Am I the only one crazy enough to have started decorating way before Thanksgiving? I know there are a lot of people that put up the outdoor lighting and yard art because it takes a long time to set things up. But has anyone besides me started decorating inside? I just put up 2 of the 7 trees and just finished fluffing them. One is 9 foot and the other is 7.5 foot. I just love Christmas and like to start early before I can get sick of it.

I use to until everything in my yard was stolen the same night I put it up. The yard was a giant graveyard with a tall life size Grimm Reaper. Now I put everything up the afternoon of Halloween.

What is your favorite holiday? Why ? Mine is Christmas. I like getting together with friends and family.

I personally love Tree's that have ornaments that have been collected through the years, because those have the most meaning to me. I put multicolored lights and clear lights on the tree. I usually put up 2 big tree's and 4 or 5 2 foot trees. I love garland where ever I can put it and I decorate that to. I love wreaths all over the house and on the doors of my kid's rooms. I also like collecting Nativity Scene's. I usually start getting thing down from the attic the day after Halloween and finish putting everything up by Thanksgiving. That way I can enjoy the holiday's and festivities. How about it, anyone else crazy for christmas? I would love to hear from you. What things do you collect? What are some of your traditions.
