Could humans climb a 50,000 foot mountain?
Assuming it's technically climbable (say as difficult as K2) but is 21,000 feet further above sea level than Everest.
Do we have the technology, to deal with the lack of air pressure, the lack of oxygen, the cold, the weather, to make it possible for a group of human's to climb to the top?
And if we dont now, is it genuinely foreseeable that it could ever be possible with technical advances we can see realistically coming?
I'm really curious about how close to the limit of human endurance and what we can build places like K2 and Everest are...

3 AnswersBooks & Authors7 years agoA ghost story about a woman haunted by the vision of a child in the road who isn't there...?
Any idea's on this?
The woman in the story keeps seeing the ghost of a child in the road, and slams on her brakes etc, but he isnt there. She goes to a doctor and he convinces her it is an illusion and she must forced herself to ignore it,
So the next time she see's the ghost she forces herself to accelerate... and well you can guess the rest. Would really like to reread the whole story, does anyone know who its by?

I built one house just below Riverwood, but then I built a new house in the Pale. I want to make my kids and wife move there, because I have a bard and steward at the new house but not at Lakeview (I think cos Lydia is my wife and normally your housecarl for that city will be your steward?)
Anyway, I cannot make the kids move there. I have the option to, and Lydia agrees to do it, but every time I come back to Lakeview she is still there.
I think the problem may be that I didnt build a kids bedroom in the new house, because I thought all I needed was too child's beds - and I built those upstairs. But I dont get the option to craft to child's chests for the upstairs (which I know I had to build before I could adopt a kid)
Is there any way to knock down a wing and rebuild a child's bedroom, or to force the ability to put child's chests upstairs so I can make my family move to the new gaff?
1 AnswerPC8 years agoNeed help with Skyrim (PC version) need to be able to kill an individual?
I know in the PC version you are supposed to be able to use "console commands", but I have never done it.
The situation is that I joined the Dawnguard, and recruited two soldiers for this dude called Isran. When I came back to hand in the quest, there was a vampire girl called Serana there to see me. This Isran individual spoke to me disgracefully and threatened her in my presence so I decided to murder him, however I can only beat him to his knees and then he gets back up and fights on. I think this is maybe because he is a quest giver?
Is there any way I can make this guy killable so that I can slit his throat?

8 AnswersMythology & Folklore8 years agoHalf of my tooth fell out.?
On Friday I ate some toffee and somehow it loosened one of my feelings on a tooth towards the back of my mouth.
Then on Saturday the filling fell out and then the back half of the tooth fell out in two pieces after it.
It aches a bit but I am not in real pain. The whole back half of the tooth is gone (and feels really sharp against my tongue) and also some of the side of the tooth. (if I pull my lips back I can see a "gap" where there was a tooth before.
I am going to the dentists tomorrow, but what can they do for me?
I am thinking they can just pull the tooth out and be done with it, but the bit that is left it isnt wobbly or anything at the moment. I dont want to leave it as it is and get an infection, but I cannot afford anything thats going to cost for than £100 or so.
1 AnswerDental8 years agoWhy do roads over bridges freeze first and thaw last?
When I have been in the US (Vermont) I have seen signs warning drivers on the road that the road will freeze first where it is over a bridge.
In my own experience I have seen the same thing... walking to work today all snow melted other than over a bridge that goes over a canal.
Why does this happen?

2 AnswersSoftware8 years agoWill I be allowed to take written notes into an inquest (UK)?
Hi. My mother died in February after a medical procedure, and because of some issues about what happened there is going to be an inquest. I understand that the family will be allowed to ask questions within the inquest, and I have been "elected" as the family's spokesperson.
I am writing (with my dad and sister) a list of question we would all like to ask. Obviously they are around issues that we have all thought about quite a lot, but when I have to speak in public (at work giving a presentation) I feel more comfortable to have written notes just to prompt me if I get off track.
My question is will I be allowed to have some notes inside the courtroom to refer to when I am given my time to ask questions of the medical staff involved?
This will be in a magistrates court in the UK.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agoDoes anyone know where I could buy online a candle lantern thing like the one at the start of Sleepy Hollow?
I cant describe it very well, but if you've seen the movie hopefully it makes sense. When you light the candle the thing spins round and the silhouettes seem to dance around the room.

How many slams do you think Federer could have won if his career hadn't coincided with the reign of Rafa Nadal at the French Open? (who in his own right must be the greatest or close to greatest clay court player of any era)
